ATTRACTIONS:
Karnala fort after witnessing a host of power struggle issues has been redeemed and stands as a specimen of 13th century. The fort was hardly used by Karnala rulers until 1818 by which time the British took it under their control.
The fort doorway is embellished with elephants and tigers . One can see water reservoirs developed naturally in the rocks. The cool surroundings and the beautiful landscapes make this region a suitable place for weekends.
The Karnala Bird Sanctuary established in 1968 is a natural habitat for more than 150 species of resident birds and 37 speciesof birds migrating from other parts of the world. One can spot wide variety of birds like spotty heart woodpeckers and ashy minimet.
Bhavani Khadageshwar Temple is located near Devale in Karnala and the temple is perched at the peak of the hilly regions. The temple is surrounded by age old water tanks and rock cut caves formed by Buddhists. The temple also embodies Goddess  Laxmi. The temple is situated in the backdrop of lush green vegetation.
A famous Shiva temple is located in Ambarnath close to Karnala where Shaivites as well as Vaishnavites offer prayers. The externalfront of the temple is adorned with epical stories of Puranas.
