Things To DoThe Indroda Dinosaur and Fossil Park
Also known as Indroda Nature Park, the fossil park is located on the bank of Sabarmati River. It is spread across an area of 400 hectares. In fact, the fossil park is considered to be the second largest hatchery of dinosaur eggs in the world. It is also known as 'India's Jurassic Park' and consists of a botanical garden, zoo, and amphitheater. It also has skeletons of many sea mammals including that of the blue whale. Also known as Adalaj Vav in Gujarati, the step well is located about 15 kms from Gandhinagar. Visit the step well to admire its marvelous architecture and intricate carvings. Located in Pethapur, the craftsmen’s village is situated about 7 kms away from Gandhinagar near the Sabarmati River. It was once famous for Bandhini sarees. Today, wooden printing blocks carved beautifully for hand-printing on sarees are exported to other countries.
