My trip was very well organized by I am himalayan tours travels for Gangtok, Darjelling. Here are some of the good and some improvements :
Good things about the trip :
1. Kriti - travel advisor from I am himalayan was helpful and was constantly following up during the trip which helped in alot of things.
2. Inclusion of Mirik lake and pushupati market was good on part of Kriti.
3. The driver in Gangtok - Abhil was really nice and friendly. Kudos to him on making us enjoy during the trip. His driving skills were just awesome
4. The driver in Gangtok - Sonam was also nice. His managed the sightseeing in Darjelling very well.
5. Except one driver, all the drivers gave us enough time to roam and enjoy the spot we were at.
6. We did river rafting on the way back from Gangtok to Darjelling, this was one of the best part of the trip. Though this was included at the last moment - the driver didnot refuse to take us and wait for around 1,5 hrs ( Driver - Abhil)
7. TT - Travel Triangle made a whatsapp group so that I can contact them in case of any issues. This is a good step and assurance that TT is aware of the ongoing trip.
8. The quotation modification done by I am Himalayan was appreciated according to my needs
9. The Hotel in Darjelling - Yann's INN was great. Staff was nice. But the location was tooooo inside and hard to find.
10. The hotel in Gangtok - Hotel Sai Kripa - they gave me only 1 superior room instead of 2 booked. That is bad. Else the hotel is like home stay kind of. The breakfast and dinner was provided by the hotel that was awesome. The staff behaviour was nice. This hotel is like home stay 3 star hotel. Only basic amenties are there.
Improvements :
1. The driver information was being communicated just one evening prior to the trip start. This should be kind of automated.
2. Sometimes, you have to follow up for the next day driver, which is again a thing that can be improved.
3. Drivers should be made clear about the trip. There should be no restriction on the timings as well. We took 1hr and 15 mins in Mirik lake, to which driver asked us to pay the parking fee. Though the parking fee is included in the package itself, just because we took 15mins ahead of 1 hr, he said you will have to pay the parking fee. That's bad on the part of the driver. He was more concerned about reaching himself on time so that he can pick up any other passenger, and was telling us to rush.
4. The driver in Darjelling was not so good. He reached around 1 hr late despite being told to reach on time. So, we had to start the trip really late. :(
In other words, Driver's punctuality, behaviour and the system of allocating the drivers to the customers is the thing which can be improved.
