Havelock Island is a picturesque destination, located approximately 40 km north east of Port Blair – the capital and the airport city of Andaman & Nicobar islands. Flights from all major cities of India are available.

Ferries and ships travel regularly from Port Blair and Neil Island to Havelock. It takes about 90 minutes from Port Blair to Havelock and about an hour from Neil Island to reach the destination. There are both government-run and privately-operated ferries & ships. Tickets for both should be booked in advance to avoid 11th-hour-rush.

The most common private ferry is the M.V. Makrruz. It departs the phoenix bay harbour – also known as the Fishery’s Jetty – at 8:45 am and leaves the destination in the evening at 4 pm. This is ideal for a day tour to the island. The ferry has luxury cabins and a coffee shop on board. Government ferries are more in number and depart at various time slots.

Speed boats are also available from Port Blair. However, the travel time is longer. It takes about 3 to 4 hours to reach Havelock from Port Blair in a speed boat.
