Raghunath Temple: Dedicated to Lord Rama, the temple is known for its gold walls on three sides.
Patnitop: Set at an altitude of 2024 meters on top of a plateau, Patnitop encompasses dense forests, freshwater streams and rolling hills. You can also enjoy several outdoor activities such as golfing, aero sports, paragliding and horse riding.
Dal Lake: The second largest lake in Kashmir, Dal is set against the backdrop of the mighty Himalayas and is best known for its shikaras and houseboats.
Gulmarg: Surrounded by dense forests, Gulmarg forms the base for a number of adventure activities such as golf, skiing, sledging and paragliding.
Sonamarg: Located at around 2730 meters above the sea level, Sonamarg is set against the backdrop of snow clad mountains. It has several lakes and passes, and is covered with golden-hued flowers in spring. You can explore thrilling treks and hikes from here.
Sri Amarnath Ji: The holy Amarnath Cave is located about 144 kms east to Srinagar and is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in India. The main claim to fame is the natural ice form of the Shivalinga. On a full moon day, the lingam is about 6 ft high.

Mata Vaishno Devi: One of the holiest shrines in India, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi has a majestic setting on the three-peaked mountain called Trikuta, which is at an altitude of 5200 ft. You can travel by train till Katra, and then trek further to the shrine. Helicopter services are also available. Besides, you can ride on hired ponies.
Chadar Trek: Adventure lovers can trek to Zanskar or Chadar during the winter, the season in which the Zanskar river becomes a sheet of snow. The added challenge in this trek is the extreme low temperature in the region.
Pahalgam: Situated in Anantnag, Pahlagam is a scenic village that traces its history to the medieval times. Perched on an altitude of 2740 meters and 95 kms from Srinagar, Pahalgam is nature’s paradise complete with dense forests, crystal clear streams, beautiful lakes and expansive meadows teeming with flowers. It is a popular tourist destination and has several resorts, hotels and guest-houses for tourists to have an enjoyable stay.
Hemis National Park: Spread across 4400 square kms, the Hemis National Park is the largest national park in South Asia. It houses rare flora and fauna including animals such as red foxes, deer, wolves, and snow leopard. You can also view birds such as the golden eagle, and the Himalayan griffon vulture.
