One of the memorable parts of this trip to Sri Lanka was our visit to “Seetha Eliya” which happens to be the place where Lord Hanuman met Devi Sita, who was eventually held captive at Ashok Vatika by Ravana, a place of utmost importance in Hindu Mythology. Discovering tis part of the Ramayana trail was fascinating.

We arrived in Nuwara Eliya late evening and were greeted with dense fog everywhere. Not a thing around us was visible and we wondered what could this place have in store for us as we checked into the ‘The Blossoms Bungalow’.

We checked out of Nuwara Eliya in the afternoon and spent the rest of the day admiring beautiful tourist spots such as Devon falls on our way to Bentota. 1xbet egypt As we passed by the vast expanse of plateaus covered with tea bushes and misty mountains, we found an artist painting the scenery at the Devon falls. We woke up early morning on the fourth day of our trip to Sri Lanka and headed off to the backwaters. We had a nice little boat ride along the meandering backwaters which opened up to the beautiful harmony of the chirping of birds, the mad cacophony of bats, and confusion of the mangroves as we made our way through. After breakfast we visited a beautiful Buddha Temple and then started off for our last destination- Colombo.

I found Colombo to be a bustling and attractive city. After checking in, we had a great time doing a city tour and seeing important places like the World Trade Center, Old Port, Old Parliament etc. We topped the day with some shopping at ODEL- a leading chain of stores in Sri Lanka. Later on, we returned to the hotel and called it a night.
