against rise in fuel prices from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. So we thought the first day of our trip i.e. transfer from Cochin to Munnar would be ruined. Enroute to Munnar were some sightseeing places which we now were going to miss bcoz of the said strike. But luckily the driver Mr. Saleem called during the afternoon and informed us that we can now leave for Munnar. He has good driving experience and the journey was equally good. We stopped were we had to, Saleemji showed us the important sightseeing places and drove us to Munnar safely. As we entered Munnar he himself contacted the Hotel (Glenmore Resort) and let them know we were soon reaching. Glenmore resort was a wonderful experience, even the drive from the highway to the hotel down in the valley was awesome. The stay, hospitality and food(not included in the package) were excellent. The staff was polite and helpful. Nice clean and quiet surroundings were very soothing. Next day we had our sightseeing in Munnar which went excellently as Saleemji knew his way around beautifully and even arranged us quick tickets and smaller queues at the Rajamalai National Park for which we saw people waiting in long lines. Next day Saleemji dropped us to our HouseBoat stay in Alleppey. The Houseboat was okay, could definitely had been better as we booked our package 3 months ahead, so the planners should have given us better options. Now the misadventures. Broken toilets, A.C. that would not be switched on before 8 p.m. and cockroaches, mosquitoes and lizards very abundant. There could have been definitely better arrangements. Mosquito repellant, we ourselves had to buy from the local village shop. The A.C. was not able to take the load due to voltage fluctuations and the evening was hot and humid. We found ourselves sitting helpless in front the only fan the Houseboat had with a mosquito coil burning right beneath us. The only relief was delicious food and helpful staff. All three meals we had were cooked were well and with a lot of variety. Food was the best thing we had on that boat. Now, Getz Destinations ! they were all in for getting praises where things went well, but, as soon as something went south they dodged. From the strike(bandh) to houseboats conditioning we told them everything, all we got was "Sir, ye to aisa hi hai" or "You should call the contact person in the voucher" whom by the way we never had previously talked to or knew that we to had to talk to. We booked well in advance, paid all our installments in time, 3 months ! and we would have really appreciated more helpful words. Saleemji's know how about the area. From arranging tickets at the National park to getting us to Ceylon restaurant and bakery in Cochin. Food, everywhere, Cochin, Munnar, Alleppey Houseboat. Last but not the least, our main reason of visit, God's own country. It's so beautiful, so full of nice,helpful and humble people. And to our surprise very affordable, almost too light on your pocket. Must visits : Ceylon hotel MG road for food in Cochin. Kasavu Alayam handlooms for sarees and suits. Ride on the houseboat through the backwaters. Tea Gardens of Munnar.

was very well planned and the stays and cab booked were top notch. Would highly recommend Oio travel agency to anyone lokking for Kerala trip. One thing that could be improved was notifying about housebout in allepey, the difference between deluxe and premium. Delixe only has AC in the night and premium the whole day. If we knew about this we would have spent more to book premium houseboat. Apart from that everything was super good.
