Day 1: We reached NJP at 3 am. The train was awfully delayed. The KNG appointed driver scheduled to pick us up from a hotel in Siliguri kept calling us from 2.30 am, almost every 30 minutes. We ...
could catch a wink of sleep. We reached Phuentsholing in the afternoon. There was no one from KNG at the hotel. The hotel “Bhutan Residency” had good amenities but lacked in maintenance. The ACs is 2 out of 3 rooms were not working. One room had no light and the toilet outlets on the floor and for the basin were clogged. We were told that our reserved and dedicated vehicle (Toyota Hi Ace) would come and take to the immigration office for biometrics. But the vehicle didn’t turn up. We were taken to the office by an agent of KNG in 2 taxis. However, the biometrics was done though we were questioned by the immigration official regarding the absence of a registered guide. The agent tried to explain in local language and it was sorted. Our permits were done online. There was a story in the permit matter as well. Before the journey we were informed that our online applications for permits have been rejected. Later we found that the 4 names were wrongly spelt. After that was indicated by us it was rectified by KNG and permits were made. Day 2: Our dedicated vehicle arrived the next day morning. During check out we found that the hotel gave 30% discount to KNG. Thus a DBR for Rs. 3000 per night was actually Rs. 2100/-. Hence it may be concluded that that it is not always wise to get hotel bookings done by agents, if one is a budget traveler. We started for Thimpu. The driver was very skilled and it was a seamless journey. The Hotel Kenny in Thimpu was a decent hotel. However, we were given only 1 view room out of 3. We requested KNG and the hotel owners to give us at least 2 view rooms and they agreed after some negotiation. Day 3: The next day was spent in local sight-seeing at Thimpu. The CP breakfast was not served in buffet style. One had to ask for more all the time. Day 4: We started for Punakha only to learn that it was the last day of the Tshechu festival at Paro. While doing the itinerary at the beginning of the negotiation, KNG should have advised us to begin the trip from Paro instead of Thimpu. So it was a bad miss. We could have easily attended the last day of this most important festival. Also One Night at Punakha was too little. We had proposed 2 Nights here but it was later revised to One Night which we overlooked. Similarly, KNG did not suggest Phobjika Valley and Gangtey Monastery. Phobjika it was learnt was a beautiful place and one night there would have been very worthwhile. In that case 2 nights at Panakha was a must. KNG’s inexperience in designing a good itinerary and arranging the required logistics was very prominent. Their faux pas began form the online permit as mentioned earlier. Dochula Pass was the cornerstone on this route. Hotel Village at Punakha was the top draw but unfortunately we were there only for a night. Day 5: The breakfast at Hotel Village was the worst in terms of quantity. We travelled to Paro. It was a delightful journey. The hotel was quite good. We asked KNG to replace hotels at Phuentsholing, Paro, Punakha and Samtse and gave them choices from the Internet. This proved to be a boon. KNG was proposing much lesser quality hotels at these places. Day 6: We travelled to Haa valley via Chelela Pass which was mesmerizing. It was a clear sky with 05 snow clad peaks visible and a drizzle of snowflakes. It was almost heavenly. Hass valley was beautiful though Rhododendrons were absent, only some visible on the way. Met Karna of KNG for the first time! He gave us fresh permits for Samste which was included in out itinerary on special request to revisit old memories of stay for two years in 1975-77. Day: 7 Returned to Phuentsholing with more agonies with the hotel rooms at the same hotel i.e. Bhutan Residency. The maintenance of the rooms allotted was pathetic. Day: 8 Travelled to Samste by departing from Phuentsholing Immigration Check Post and reentering from the Indian side of Chamurchi Bazar via Banarhata. KNG constantly misguided us that we do not need immigration stamp at Samste check post as NC Elections have been declared there and tourists were not allowed to enter. We were told to enter without showing the permit and the passports. But our driver saved us from misery. The driver and I went to talk to the Immigration officer and explained my purpose of the visit and he granted us immigration clearance and wanted an undertaking from the Hotel where we would put up. Again this underscores KNG’s inexperience! The hotel at Samste was exceptionally good for Samste standard. The rooms were on the third floor and there was no elevator. In the final analysis I would rate KNG : 3/5. Day: 9 Spent at Samste and visited the nostalgic Samste College of Education. Day: 10 Early morning drop to Siliguri.

This was our first family trip to Bhutan and we had a wonderful time there. Our trip was organised by Green Zone destination. From the onset l, Sharmila was prompt and responsive. She was able to...
understand our requirements and created a custom itinerary for us. Our assigned driver and guide were also very friendly and knowledgeable. They shared with us the history of Bhutan, it's rich cultural heritage and religious significance. Our itinerary was 5 nights long which covered Thimphu, Punakha, Paro returning via Phutenshilong. During our visit, the weather was on our side and we visited all major attractions. We particularly liked the Punakha Dzong, Suspension Bridge, Tiger's nest and Paro cultural museum. The hike to Tiger's nest was the highlight of our trip. All our accomodations were comfortable and the rooms had picturesque views. My wife and I were also celebrating our wedding anniversary. The Green Zone destination team surprised us with a cake and decorated our room. This was a very kind gesture and it made our day all the more special. Additionally, during the trip my mother had forgotten her jacket in one of the hotels we were staying and the Green Zone destination team went out of the way to fetch it and deliver it to us enroute. Overall, we had a wonderful time and have cherished memories of our visit to Bhutan. Kudos to the Green Zone destination team for organising our trip and being on top of everything. I strongly recommend them for Bhutan travel requirements.

Bhutan INC Tours made the trip of Bhutan so amazing! They were professional, kind and detail-oriented from my first interaction with them. I really appreciate that Miss Lalita created a personali...
sed itinerary for me that was based around my love for hiking and trekking. The team put together a custom off the beaten path experience which was everything I could have asked for and more. My guide Sir Ugyen Nima had so much knowledge which he shared at every opportunity. I was enriched by his experiences whilst on this journey together. Thank you Ugyen Sir! Special mention also needs giving out here about how awesome it was having Mr Yeshi (my driver/guide) who played some great tunes throughout our drives around various parts of beautiful Bhutan thus adding another layer onto an already enjoyable trip. Each day brought new accommodation facilities; all equally comfortable some days were more cozy, but still I had ample of sleep to get ready for the next day. The meals provided for breakfast and dinner were very healthy and even got to experience the authentic bhutanese cuisine! Getting to know Bhutan through Bhutan INC Tours has been nothing short of mind blowing! Thank you so much guys for showing me such an awesome time – words fail when trying to describe just how grateful I am towards everyone involved!! Special Thanks to Mam Khina and Lalita for taking out time from their busy schedule to have a short meeting. Much appreciated!

such a beautiful country. GBS Tour and Travel organized my itinerary flawlessly and everything went smoothly. I will definitely recommend them to my friends. Both the guide and driver provided excellent support during our journey and trekking, assisting us every step of the way. Regarding the hotels, while some bedsheets weren't changed, the views from the hotel rooms were breathtaking. Particularly, the view from the Punakha hotel was amazing

xtremely clean (like in all parts of Bhutan) ! Bhutanese are very nice people , respectful and helping. In fact, we felt pampered during our 10 day tour. We followed the itinerary and made minor modifications based on our pref. If there is one improvement area - I would say Gaikling Guest House, Phobjikha did not have hot water in the bathroom, when we visited. Learn there was a power problem the previous day due to heavy snowfall causing disruption. However, we did have had room heaters, lights and food was available in the restaurant. Staff was very courteous too and apologetic for non-availability of hot water in bathroom. Overall a very nice experience !!
