How To Reach Himachal Pradesh
Read about the best & quickest routes to save time & money, as suggested by our travelers
There are three domestic airports that connect Himachal Pradesh to the rest of the country. These are located at Kullu-Manali, Dharamshala and Shimla. The airports have flights from Himachal Pradesh to Delhi and Chandigarh. You can conveniently travel via air and get down at the airport closest to the cities you wish to visit.
The kind of rocky terrain that Himachal Pradesh is located on, makes it slightly inconvenient to construct railway tracks. However, with best efforts, a train does run into the state from Pathankot in Punjab. Travelers can drive up to Punjab or take a flight and then take a train to Himachal Pradesh. By train, it takes only about seven and a half hours long. People usually take overnight trains to Himachal so that they reach feeling refreshed. The important railway stations in Himachal are Solan and Una. There is also a toy train available that connects Himachal to Kalka. Opting for a train proves to be great option as they are usually affordable, comfortable, well maintained and a lot more fun than a flight journey.
The advantage of states situated in the hills is that you can plan a comfortable road trip. The distance from Delhi to Himachal Pradesh by road can be covered in just about 7 hours or maximum 7 and a half hours. The roads are very well maintained and even during the monsoon season, it is safe to drive up to the state, just needs a little caution. Himachal Pradesh is very well connected to the major cities. To reach Himachal by road, you can hire cabs or even take a bus. A bus journey is usually affordable and comfortable too, as the buses stop from time to time and allow people to try out the hill roadside chai and some local delicacies.

Trip to HimachalFirst of all thanks to Chand for being patient with me and my requests. Since it was my first solo trip I had a lot of doubts and questions about safety and stuff. The travel agents Akash and Chand made sure to check up on me everyday and if I was comfortable. Monu bhaiya, the driver made me feel very comfortable. He would talk about the places we were traveling to and sometimes if I wanted to take a detour he was very accommodating with that too. Overall I was very happy and will go for the mountain people again if I plan another trip in the north east. So I had a camp stay for a night in billing at the mountain top and was supposed to paraglide from there the next morning. To my surprise, I was the only girl in the whole mountains. There were groups of guys but no girl. However, I met a group of three guys and we got along so well. They took care of me and were very prot of me since I was the only girl. And the next day we flew together and ended up traveling for a short distance from bir after which we sadly had to part ways. But I made very good friends that day and will never forget that day.
Trip to HimachalWe have faced problem with cab driver. He was not given proper service. Our flight timing was on 12: 30 am on 14th and he dropped us on airport on 6pm on 13th april. We have to wait 6hr 30 min on airport for same thing He was picked up on 4:30 am. Also dropped on wrong airport terminal. He was not listening things like start AC, stop car for lunch break. Our trip was awesome except cab driver experience. Hotels and hotel service was awesome.
Trip to HimachalNorth India tours and travel also good service provide such a great experience good service
Trip to HimachalHi, The trip was good. The stay at shimla in honeymoon inn was more than expected. The cab pickup and drop was on time. The cab driver was driving rash. The drive was not comfortable. We had to be attentive all the time, as we had no idea when our driver will apply brake. The drive was like a roller coaster ride. The quote given to me had air conditioned car, but the AC was on only for 10% of the total journey. The driver refused to switch on the AC, even when my wife was not feeling well, she vomitted 3 times, while traveling from shimla to manali. The driver used to take us to the spots and adventure stall which were costly. Instead of helping us to select package at actual rates, the driver would suggest us to take a costly adventure package for his commission, saying this are union rates and fixed. This was not at all expected. The next stay at manali in snow flakes resort was disppointing. The stay was booked with breakfast and dinner. We got buffet dinner only on first day and for the next two days we were told to have a-la-carte with a excuse of not having enough people for buffet, even though we paid for the buffet dinner. The options available for a-la-carte were limited to us, due to which we couldn't enjoy our dinner. I felt like being cheated here. The stay at Chandigarh in Ramada Plaza was awesome, 5 Star from me. The food and hospitality was excellent. The travel agent assure trips and the car driver were not on the same page, when it comes to site seeing. The driver used to plan site seeing as per his convenience. The plan mentioned in the quotation was not followed. Overall the trip was below average even after paying so much.
Trip to Himachaldriver best.. rafting excellent. snow games not up to the mark.rooms in Shimla with food was good.though room was good at Manali food was not up to the mark.At Chandigarh both room n food was not good.Rohtang pass was closed. spiti lahaul though mentioned in itinerary was not covered. Too many tightly packed schedule so could not explore all like scandal point club house etc.
Trip to HimachalTrip is well planned. Travel agent is really good at planning things and always in touch during the trip. We are Lucky enough to experience Snowfall in march.

Trip to HimachalI had gifted honeymoon trip to my brother and as per him enjoyed the trip like never before. Trip went on very smoothly since day 1 till they reached Hyderabad. The best part was agent Nikki who had followed up everyday to know how was the trip and day wise and had also asked for feedback in case of any inconvenience. She deserves 6star service and should appreciate her great service. I'd certainly recommend travel triangle to my family and friends Snow point was the best place in Manali and also hotels were fabulous. Driver was very knowledgeable with lots of patience. Overall since the day my brother landed at Shimla and the day he de boarded Manali every moment was memorable.
