Georgia Holiday Packages

A land of medieval forts and monasteries, the country of Georgia is known for its majestic mountains and green hills. A tourist’s Georgia holidays are marked by delicious food, exceptional wine, lots of greenery, and a whiff of history.
All of this together makes Georgia a holistic holiday spot.

The country has a certain old-world charm to it and people often love its hospitality and warmth in the form of amazing places to visit and very friendly people. Spend some time exploring this gorgeous nation, and we promise, you will be in for a treat.

Places to visit

1. Tbilisi

The capital city of Georgia, Tbilisi is one of the best places to visit in the country. Deem your Georgia tour package incomplete if this isn’t a part of it. Surrounded by mountains and hills, this place has a diverse history and varied architectural marvels. The Old Town part of the city is particularly exciting as it is a fine example of the testaments of history of the city and even the country at large.

2. Mtskheta

The religious capital of Georgia, Mtskheta is spiritual at heart and one of the most peaceful cities in the country. It is also one of the oldest- about 4,000 years- and has in its embrace, three of the most important churches of Georgia. These are Svetitskhoveli, Jvari, and Samtavro Monastery. The Enlightener of Georgia, Saint Nivo lived in this city.

3. Vardzia

A cave monastery in Southern Georgia, this place looks like the movie set of a fun-fiction movie, something like the Lord of the Rings. It was built in the 12th century and was made by King Tamar. She was the first lady to be crowned as the king in Georgian history. It was a secret place until an earthquake hit Georgia and the cave got exposed.

4. Uplistsikhe

In eastern Georgia lies Uplistsikhe, which is an abandoned rock town over 3000 years old. It was found in 1000 BC. The entire structure showcases a town with homes, a pharmacy, and an amphitheater- all of which were connected by tunnels.

5. Katskhi Pillar

A 40-meter high monolith, which is also known as the ‘Pillar of Life,’ the Katskhi Pillar also has a church on top of it. A mystery surrounds the place about how the church was built at such a height since it was only after 1945 that the researchers were first able to climb the pillar.

Best time to visit

Winters (December to March)

This isn’t an ideal time to book a Georgia package. Everything is cold and freezing and the lodges are full because of all the holiday festivities. The temperatures sometimes reach below freezing point causing snow. While it is great if you enjoy winters, but otherwise, it isn’t the best time to visit Georgia.

Summers/ Spring (April to September)

After the harsh winters, things seem to fall into place during the summer and spring season in Georgia. The walking trails start becoming accessible by April and May and the weather starts clearing out. The temperature averages to a moderate 15 degree Celcius and the sky is blue again. June is an excellent time to visit Georgia because it is the interim between the winter rush and the summer madness.

How to reach

Things to do on Georgia holidays

1. Explore the beauty of Chiatura

Explore the town of Chiatura, which is full of steep valleys and deep gorges. This was a mining colony in the 1800s with hundreds of cable cars for the convenience of miners. Most of them are rusted but some of them still function. Therefore, this town is justifiably called the ‘cable car city’.

2. Enjoy a tour of Batumi

Take a day tour of the glamorous city of Batumi. This is the perfect amalgamation of European and Asian cultures with mosques, churches, casinos, and party places- all under one roof. It is warm and welcoming and a pleasant change for the other historically powerful cities of Georgia.

3. Go village hopping in Svaneti

Svaneti which lies in the heart of the Caucasus mountains. You can drive there from one of the main cities and explore the different small villages in the province to get a taste of the rural life of the country. Upper Svaneti is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and also known to be the highest inhabited place in Europe.

4. Attend a Traditional Supra

A traditional Georgian feast giving you copious amounts of Georgian delights- one plat after another. It’s a wiser idea to be friends with locals to attend one of these because this can’t be a part of your Georgia holiday package.

5. Taste Georgian wine

Get a taste of Georgian wine- one of the most wonderful in the world. While many citizens make it at home, you will find a number of vineyards in Khatkhati.
