Best Time To Visit

Winter (October - March)

The bliss that Guwahati is during winters can only be understood if you visit. Particularly exciting is a time when it is visited with your loved one. So book a Guwahati honeymoon package between this time, since winters are also a popular time for weddings as well. Some very interesting festivals also take place in the city during this time like the Magh Bihu Festival. The weather is chilly dipping to 12 degrees Celcius and going up to only 25 degrees Celcius.

Monsoon (June - September)

The city of Guwahati witnesses heavy rainfall during these months, starting July, going on till October. This may not be an ideal time to visit Guwahati as there are crazy downpours during this time. The attractions may seem slightly inaccessible during this time.

Summer (April-May)

With moderate to high temperatures, staying between 30-40 degrees Celcius. Though the afternoons may be uncomfortable, early mornings and late evenings are pleasant. This is a very good time to visit Guwahati with friends and folks. A very popular attraction for tourists during this time is the Ambubachi Mela, which happens at the Kamakhya Temple.

How To Reach?

By Air

There is an airport in Guwahati, which is well-connected to cities like Kolkata, Delhi, Agartala and many more. The international airport closest to Guwahati is Mumbai. The Guwahati Airport is 20 km away from the city centre, and if you are on a Guwahati honeymoon, you can rent a cab or a car for a beautiful drive from the airport to the city.

By Train

There are two major rail stations in Guwahati- one which is the city’s namesake and the other one, Kamakhya. Trains come to these stations for all major cities in India. You will find express and super fast trains plying to the city on a regular basis.

By Road

Me and my husband took the services from Indeman Travel Solutions for our 8 night 9 day trip to Arunachal Pradesh and Kaziranga. I would first like to applaud the great services provided by Mr. Sanjeev. He was always available right from the planning stage till the completion of the tour. Apart from being polite and patient, he was always available on phone whenever we needed any support during the trip. The hotels and cab provided was quite satisfactory. He also arranged my last minute Kamakhya Temple darshan in Guwahati. After a long time, we found a very good travel company provided by Travel Triangle.

Bhabajyoti's 5 days trip to Andaman

My family and I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Andaman Islands, and it turned out to be an experience we will cherish forever. Traveling with my wife and our two-year-old child, we were initially curious about how the trip would go, but it surpassed all our expectations. The serene beaches, crystal-clear waters, and lush greenery of Andaman created a perfect backdrop for relaxation and adventure alike. Whether it was the iconic Radhanagar Beach on Havelock Island or the peaceful shores of Neil Island, every moment was a visual treat. Our little one had a blast playing on the soft sands, while we soaked in the breathtaking sunsets that painted the sky in vibrant hues. We also explored the historic Cellular Jail, where the stories of India's freedom struggle came alive. The light and sound show was particularly moving, making the visit a memorable one. For those seeking adventure, the snorkeling and boat rides were simply unforgettable, allowing us to witness the colorful marine life up close. The hospitality we encountered throughout the trip, from our hotel staff to the locals, made our stay even more enjoyable. Traveling with a young child can be challenging, but the warmth and care we received ensured everything went smoothly. This trip to Andaman was truly magical for us as a family, offering a perfect blend of relaxation, history, and adventure. It’s an experience we will treasure for years to come, and we can’t wait to return to this paradise again one day. Thank you to MyTripLab and especially Mr. Ankit Sharma for taking care of all the itinerary starting from Port Blair and back. Thank you once again. Warm regards, Dr. Bhabajyoti Saikia Guwahati, Assam.

The cab driver that we got initially which was suppose to pick us up from the Guwahati airport was very bad (name was Md. Ali) and we had to got it replaced from the agency and we had to wait for some time at the airport. Later on we got a decent driver and then there was no problem with our trip. So always make sure to check on the driver before the trip is started so that it does not ruin your trip.

Saurabh's 5 days trip to North East

Hello Travel Triangle team, First of all, thanks for organizing blissful journey with my family, which we all had enjoyed a lot. Kudos to the team!!! Below are pros and cons which I like to highlight for reference. 1. Our travel agent was Akhilesh Srivastava from Indeman Travel, who managed our trip well enough and handled few hiccups very efficiently. 2. Cab drivers, Yassih Adohc for Gangtok and Musaddik Alom for Assam and Meghalaya, both had done a tremendous job and took us to every tourist place as per the itinerary on time. Thanks a lot to both guys. 3. Hotels were good enough for night stay, mostly with no issues. 4. Pickup-drops were done on time, no issues in that. Special mention - "Musaddik Alom" helped us in reaching hospital with our kid in shillong. My kid fell down in shillong Hotel room and got hurt. He also managed to complete the itineries along with the hospital. special thanks to the driver. 5. Hotel Kaso in Gangtok was good however it seems like property being managed by inexperienced staff, as I was traveling with my 3 years old kid and there was requirement of milk, at first instance they didn`t respond positively (could be issue of language barrier) and told us that there was no availability of milk however after Akhilesh intervention, they provided us milk. When we asked for tea in room service at 6:30 pm, someone said from reception "abhi to dinner banna start ho gaya hai Gas khali nahi hai". this is not acceptable. if you have a hotel with so many floors and rooms, you need to equip your kitchen with multiple stoves. Food quality was so-so, the servers were courteous however some of the food items were not hot like poha was served cold which became hard, upma was dry and could have been cooked more. Kindly arrange hotels which has microwave to serve hot food and provides milk facility specially when there is a travelling family with Kid. 6. We stayed at La-Castle in Shillong and had a great experience over there with no issues. 7. La Kuper Inn at cherrapungi was not good enough, things were limited due to remote place which is fine for us, however staff doesn`t seem to care much about guest instructions as I explained them in advance, in written and verbal instruction both that to make a dish without onion-garlic for my father at dinner however they skipped the instructions and in the end my father ate chapatis without any curry/dish, it was disappointing for us and made the stay uncomfortable. Breakfast was late, food was below average and our driver didnt got food and water in the washroom. At last, the driver "Musaddik Alom" left without breakfast and bath. Not recommend at all. Also, in one of the bathroom (Room no 9), there was issue of water clogging. During bath, the water was getting filled in the bathroom. 8. Riwar Cottage was good, food options were limited and amenities like wifi, tv was not available due to remote village location, however it was fine. Staff was courteous and services were provided on time efficiently. 9. Arna Residency at Guwahati was good for stay, no issues here. however one thing I would to inform that staff needs some more training about how to behave with guests specially senior citizens. After check-in, my father asked for 4 cups of tea to be served in room, but the staff in reception said "72 rs ki hai ek chai". We didnt asked for the rate, it was weird for us however we ignored it. 10. Two hiccups were there during check-ins, when we reached La-castle and Arna residency, we were informed that our booking was not confirmed, however it was resolved by Akhilesh at that time. Hotel management informed us that "the bookings are being made on spot. In case, no rooms were available, what you would have done, Sir?" I would like to mention here that in such case we would have been sent to another hotel which is not good. The hotels should be always pre-booked. so that the tourists dont need to wait. Few Pros: 1) La-castle food was great for us. they followed all the instructions perfectly. 2) Riwar cottage provided all the facility they had on time. their behaviour is phenomenal as they were always responding with a smiling face. 3) Both the drivers were great. Overall trip was good and we enjoyed a lot, Thanks to the Indeman Travel and Travel Triangle team once again.

Ravindran's 7 days trip to North East

First of all a big thank you to Travel Triangle for arranging a very good trip of Northeast covering most of the desired places and also giving enough time to enjoy the lovely locations. We really enjoyed the trip and cherish memories of our visit. The most enjoyed portions of our trip are Balaji Temple in Guwahati, Kazhiranga National Park, Chirapunji, Mawlynnlong Living Root Bridge, Dawki Border with Bangladesh, Boat ride in Umngot river supposed to be crystal clear water but due to previous night rain was totally murky (unlucky!!), Sacred Forest, Umiam Lake, Darshan at Maa Khamakya temple, Assam State Zoo. However not all locations could be enjoyed fully as described in your offer for reasons below : 1. Umiyam Lake had closed while going from Guwahati but during return could see the lake but no boat ride was possible due to extreme windy conditions. 2. Umngot river water was totally murky due to overnight rain. 3. Northiang Monolith was totally missed as driver forgot to take us there. The hotels chosen were pretty decent but lacked any room view. We were stumped when we reached Shillong when the Hotel Treetops Residency informed that there was no booking for us and he was being kind enough to accommodate us for that night (2nd day). For the subsequent booking on 5th and 6th Night (while returning) he advised us to look for alternate accommodation which as per the manager was already informed to Indeman Travels but no action taken till we flagged this issue. Created anxious moments till alternate arrangement was made, which could very well have been avoided. In fact the hotel room at EEE CEE Hotel did not have any window and only walls on all sides. The cab driver initially was very helpful but as the tour proceeded developed different attitude. In fact we were dropped at the airport at 12 o’ clock itself for our flight at 17.05 hrs and left in a hurry after unloading the luggage on the road in departure end. Didn’t even wait for a final bye bye from us. Kazhiranga national Park, Living Root Bridge, Kamakhya temple

We travelled to Guwahati, Shillong and Cherrapunji , the trip was quite comfortable. We travelled for 5 days driver was quite experienced and hostile he knows all the good places to visit and good restaurants for food, we tried all kind of food and overall, it was an awesome experience. The hotel (SJ International) in Guwahati was quite small, the extra bed taken all the space, other category of rooms was not available, even food was not good. The hotel in Shillong (Tree Top) was quite spacious but complimentary breakfast was average. Stay and food at Cherrapunji was good.

Akshay's 6 days trip to North East

Hello, All in all, I would say we had a very wonderful experience in Meghalaya, and a safe one too. This will be a detailed review of my 6D 5N stay in Meghalaya from 25 Feb to 1 Mar. 2024. The driver Hatim Ali picked us up at the airport around 11.30 AM when we landed. We started off to Kazhiranga, and the first day was entirely travel, as Kazhiranga was quite far away and there are highway speed checks and animal crossings, so can't really reach Kazhiranga anytime before 6 hrs of travel. Also, sun sets very early, around 5.30pm, so all plans need to be made before that. The stay in Kazhiranga, Dhanshree Resort was excellent, with amazing food. Our only regret was that we stayed here for just one night. Next day. we did the Jeep safari. at Rs.4000 per Jeep. It was a 3 hour safari through the Central range. and it was worth it. But that's that. There is nothing else to see or do in Kazhiranga. We started off to Shillong right after the Safari. We reached Shillong around 6pm on the 2nd day. The place we stayed here was Treetops residency. We had to climb up the stairs, to reach the entrance. the receptionist greeted us well, and showed us to our rooms. The room was big and cozy, and had heaters. This is much needed, as temperatures drop to 6-7 degrees. The only downside to this day stays was the food. We ordered food from the hotel, and we were disappointed. Food is not good here. On the third day, we travelled to Meghalaya around 8am in the morning. It was just 57kms, so we reached early. Now this was the best day of the entire trip. First we visited the Arwan caves, which was amazing. Then, we went to Noh-kalikai falls. Despite water levels being low, the location and the view was mesmerizing. Then we visited the Masmui caves. The limestone cave was even better, and we spent some good time here. We went to see the Seven sister falls, but water levels were too low. Also, Thangkharang park was closed, when we visited at 4pm, so our driver took us to Eco park, which was good. There is a view point, and lot of area to walk around, in the setting sun, and worth to spend some time here. We wrapped the day, and checked in at our stay, La Kupar. The cottage is good, with neat and cozy rooms. Having wooden walls, its much warmer and fresh. the food was served to our room, and was average. Nothing spectacular. Next day, we visited the Garden of Caves. Now this is a spot we cannot miss in Sohra. A total of 11 amazing spots, including caves, view points, waterfalls, this Garden is truly a feast for our eyes. But beware, we do have to walk a lot, and it takes around 2 hours to complete. Then we made our way to Maylynnong, and trekked a little to the Living root bridge. This is a natural phenomena, and worth the visit. After this, we visited the cleanest city in Asia. We wrapped the day, with stay at Riwar cottage. This being a very remote place, cannot expect much luxury here. The cottage was small but clean. The food in the night was tasty, and the staff were good and responsive. Next day, we went to Dawki in the morning, for the famous Umngot river boat ride. This was the highlight of the trip. On the borders of Bangladesh and Meghalaya, this place is truly a sight for sore eyes. Beware, ask your boat paddler not the veer towards to the Bangladesh border. There is a huge cloud always, and they pass dirty remarks. My wife faced a situation, while we were on the boat. As we did not understand their language, there was nothing much we can do. We finished the ride, and travelled back towards Shillong, through Jowai. The car ride was good, and we visited Krang Shuri and PheePhee falls on the way. This would have been post rainy season, water levels were low. We visited the Laitlum canyons on the way back. This is a view point, with deep gorges. Amazing time here, with photo shoots. Then we travelled towards Shillong. As we reached early. we visited Ward's lake. Amazing place. Also, we went to the famous Police bazaar, the flee market of Shillong. Then, we stayed at TreeTops Residency. Again, disappointing food. Ordering via Zomato was the only option at 09:30 PM for us. On the last day, we got up late, and made our way towards Guwahati airport. Our driver showed us a temple on the way, and we had lunch, and were dropped at the airport. I would like to really appreciate our driver Hatim Ali, he was truly a gentleman, and made sure our stay and journey was safe and pleasant.

We had booked only hotels through hilldheko. Initially the booking was smooth, there were no issues, so we were under the impression everything would go on smoothly. We stayed at treetops on our first day it was a good hotel no issues. But in chirapunjee we were placed at a very bad resort, the rooms very very very small, no space to move around also. I repeatedly asked if it was a good resort before booking, but it wasn't. On the third day, we were to be placed at Mawdong. There was some confusion aand when I called the hostess to tell her we were going to be late, she said there isn't any booking under my name. After calling Rohit, he sorted things. Mawdong was an amazing place, good rooms, good food. In guwahati, we had asked for brahmaputra river cruise tickets to be booked, they told us it has been book but they hadnt made the payment to the cruise company. And when contacted Rohit, he asked us to make the payment again because they had a server issue to transfer the amount. We didn't agree, and somehow after speaking to Prashant things got sorted. That wasn't professional at all.
