Bhutan’s devotion to preserving its culture and environment was evident everywhere. From traditional architecture to the pristine surroundings untouched by mass tourism. The hospitality was exceptional. Whether at hotels, homestays, or local cafes, everyone I met was incredibly kind and eager to share the essence of Bhutanese life. The food was delicious too, especially the locally grown produce and comforting dishes like ema datshi. What truly set Bhutan apart was the sense of calm and authenticity. It’s a place where you can genuinely unplug, breathe deeply, and feel connected to both nature and culture. The emphasis on Gross National Happiness isn’t just a slogan, it’s something you feel throughout the journey. Overall, my trip to Bhutan was enriching, peaceful, and memorable, an experience I would highly recommend to anyone seeking beauty, culture, and a refreshing shift in perspective.

Breathtaking view of the Munnar Valley from hotel room at Tea Village, Munnar; Sighting Nilgiri Tahr from a very close distance at the Eravikualm National Park; photo sessions at the 2nd mile photo point and tea estates; boat ride at the Vembanad lake (Kumarakom backwaters); Elephant ride and Kathakali show at Thekaddy, amazing local cuisine especially sea food and plenty of photographs. I stayed at three hotels — Jannat Resort and Spa (Manali),Quartz Himalayan Brothers (Dharmashala), and Grand View Hotel (Dalhousie) — and each one offered very good service with clean, comfortable rooms. The cab driver assigned to me, Jatin Sharma , was also very polite and courteous. He drove safely, was punctual, and made the entire journey comfortable. I had a seamless and enjoyable experience!
