Kasauli Tour Packages (2D/1N) - At A Glance
This is a short, done-in-a-weekend Kasauli plan built around one night and two days, with Chandigarh as the start point rather than a long haul from the plains. You get picked up at Chandigarh, drive the 65-odd km up to Kasauli in about two and a half hours, and spend the rest of the trip on the things this old cantonment town is actually known for. The upper Mall Road walk, Christ Church, Gilbert Nature Trail, the Sunrise and Sunset points, and Monkey Point on the second morning. The package starts at Rs 9,000 per person on twin sharing and every day of it can be reshaped to suit your dates, your pace and where you want to be picked up.

Day 1: Chandigarh to Kasauli, Mall Road, Christ Church and Sunset Point
Your driver meets you in Chandigarh in the morning and heads out on NH5 towards Parwanoo, then up the hill road to Kasauli. It is a climb of about 65 km that most cars do in two to two and a half hours, and it is a pretty one once you cross Parwanoo. If you leave early, you can break the drive at the Timber Trail ropeway in Parwanoo, a cable-car ride across the valley that takes 20 minutes each way. Check in at your Kasauli hotel and drop your bags.
Spend the afternoon on foot. The upper Mall Road in Kasauli is closed to traffic, so it is a quiet stroll past colonial-era buildings, small Tibetan stalls and pine. At one end sits Christ Church, an Anglican church built in 1853 with neo-Gothic stone work and stained glass, one of the oldest structures in town. From there it is a short walk to Sunset Point, also called Lover's Lane, a level path under deodar trees where the light drops behind the Shivalik ridgeline. Get there by about 4 pm to hold a good spot. Evening is at leisure back near the Mall.
Day 2: Sunrise Point, Gilbert Trail, Monkey Point and Kasauli Brewery
Start early. Sunrise Point, known locally as Hawa Ghar, looks east towards the Choor Chandni peak and, on a clear winter morning, a long line of the Shivaliks. After breakfast at the hotel, walk the Gilbert Nature Trail, a flat 1.5 km path that begins near the Central Research Institute and is the town's best short birding and forest walk. Keep an eye out for the Himalayan bird species the trail is named for.
Then drive up to Monkey Point, or Manki Point, the highest spot in Kasauli at the far end of the Air Force station. There is a small Hanuman temple at the top and the view runs across the plains towards Chandigarh. One practical thing to know: the point sits inside a defence area, so carry a government photo ID, and phones and cameras have to be left at the gate. Foreign nationals are generally not allowed up. On the way back you can look in at the Kasauli Brewery, one of the oldest working distilleries in the country, and stop at Dharampur and Sabathu, a small cantonment with a Gurkha fort from the early 1800s that most weekend itineraries skip. Do your last bit of Mall Road shopping, check out, and drive back down to Chandigarh.

How to reach Kasauli and distances
Kasauli sits in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, on the Shivalik range just above the Punjab-Haryana plains. Chandigarh is the natural gateway for a two-day trip.
By road from Chandigarh
About 65 km, two to two and a half hours. The route runs on NH5 to Parwanoo, then up the hill road through Dharampur to Kasauli. This is the drive the package is built around, and it is the reason a one-night trip works here.
By train
Kalka is the nearest railway station, about 25 km below Kasauli and roughly an hour's climb by road. Kalka is well connected to Delhi and Chandigarh, and it is also where the Kalka-Shimla toy train begins. From Kalka your pickup brings you up to Kasauli.
By air, and from Delhi
The nearest airport is Chandigarh (IXC), about 65 km away. If you prefer to start from Delhi, that is roughly 290 km and a six to seven hour drive, which we can arrange as an optional pickup. For a dedicated Delhi-origin plan, our Kasauli tour from Delhi package is the better fit.

FAQs About Himachal Tour Packages
Is 2 days enough for Kasauli?
Yes. One night and two days covers the town comfortably. Day one is the Mall Road, Christ Church and Sunset Point, and day two is Sunrise Point, the Gilbert Nature Trail, Monkey Point and the Kasauli Brewery before you drive back. Kasauli is small and walkable, so a weekend is the sweet spot. A third day only makes sense if you want to add Sabathu, Chail or a slower pace.
What is the best 1 night 2 days Kasauli itinerary?
Arrive from Chandigarh by midday, walk the upper Mall Road and Christ Church in the afternoon, and catch the sunset at Lover's Lane. On day two, start at Sunrise Point at dawn, do the Gilbert Trail, then Monkey Point and the brewery, and leave by early afternoon. This is exactly the plan this package is built on, and every stop can be swapped.
How far is Kasauli from Chandigarh and Delhi?
Chandigarh to Kasauli is about 65 km and takes two to two and a half hours by road, which is why Chandigarh is the gateway for a short trip. Delhi is roughly 290 km, a six to seven hour drive, and we can arrange a Delhi pickup on request.
Which is the nearest railway station to Kasauli?
Kalka, about 25 km below Kasauli and roughly an hour's climb by road. Kalka is on the main line from Delhi and Chandigarh, and it is also the starting point of the Kalka-Shimla toy train. Your package pick-up meets you at Kalka and drives you up.
What is the best time to visit Kasauli?
March to June is pleasant and cool while the plains bake, which makes it the busiest window. September to December brings the clearest Shivalik and Choor Chandni views from the sunrise and sunset points. The monsoon months of July and August can disrupt sightseeing, so plan around them if you can.
Do I need a permit or ID for Monkey Point?
Monkey Point sits inside the Air Force station, so carry a government photo ID. Phones and cameras must be deposited at the gate before you walk up. Indian nationals are allowed with ID. Foreign nationals are generally not permitted, so check in advance if that applies to you.
What is included in the Rs 9,000 package?
The base price covers one night of hotel stay on twin sharing, a welcome drink, daily breakfast, all the sightseeing listed in the itinerary, and pick-up and drop from Chandigarh airport or Kalka railway station, plus all taxes. Lunch, dinner, entry tickets and personal expenses are not included.
Can I customise this itinerary?
Yes, fully. This is a private, agent-arranged trip, not a fixed group tour. You can add nights, upgrade the hotel, start from Delhi instead of Chandigarh, or reorder the sightseeing, and you will get updated quotes from up to three verified agents before you pay anything.
