Karteek's 5 days trip to Bhutan

I have just returned from an amazing holiday organised by Bhutan Red Robes Destination. I was convinced when I had contacted Red Robes Destination, the owner MR Subash Brrd, that I was not going to get a commercial experience but instead one that was suitable for me. He made it possible for me to make a trip out on such short notice by helping me to expedite my requirements. He really went above and beyond to accommodate to my dates of travel. He was extremely responsive and replied to every single one of my questions in detail. It was extremely reassuring. The trip was 5 days and 4 nights – Timphu (2D) and Paro (2D). The crew he put together was amazing. I should personally thank Mr David Bruce who understood us what we were looking for in the trip and upon listening carefully to our likes and dislikes he had made our itinerary flexible which included both beautiful landscapes and a cultural tour. And he even suggested a few things for us to get the full experience we wanted. He also became my guide for the whole trip. David Sir had also taken us out to get a feel of the local hood which was a really fun experience. I believed we had the true authentic experience. David didn’t feel like a guide, we became good friends after. He is a very warm and kind person. He did things from his heart. I felt like he was a true reflection of the calm Bhutanese spirit. My trip to Bhutan was better than I had imagined and exactly what I needed. This would not have been possible without Bhutan Red Robes Destination. The highlight was the Dochula Pass and got a chance to see Himalayan mountain ranges of Bhutan......What a wonderful day. Some of the highlights are “Buddha Dordenma Statue “, "Simply Bhutan (Living Museum)", "Authentic Bhutanese Crafts Bazaar", "Paro valley following thru Wang Chhu and Pa Chhu rivers”, “National Museum – Housed in the Ta Dzong (Watch Tower) of the Rinpung Dzong", "Paro Dzong, built in 17th century". Special Thanks to Mr Bhuman Sharma our Photographer, in spite of his busy schedule of his wedding which is within a week time, he could able to travel with us through our trip  for capturing amazing clicks. I will never forget you all & I recommend Bhutan Red Robes Destination whoever is planning for Bhutan. With sincere appreciation for making it all possible. Yuktha, Kalyani & Karteek :)

It was a fabulous and a memorable trip! We felt very much comfortable in the company of Mr. Sharan. He shared with us the stories about Bhutan and gave us the background before visiting every place in such a way that we could always connect with the descriptions the guides at the dzongs were giving us. Everything in this trip was perfect and except our hotel at Punakha. I felt that should have been better. The hotel at Thimphu and the homestay at Paro were excellent.

Thimpu and Paro hotel were great. Cab reached airport before we arrived. Our driver Dena was very polite and helpful. He showed us all the sites and markets. Just one downside, Punakha hotel, River side hotel was not good. It's a new hotel and not upto the mark. Longest suspension bridge in Punakha and snowfall on last day at Tiger nest base.

Our Bhutan trip went really well thanks to team Valley Tours And Treks. Prema who coordinated during the entire planning phase was very patient and helpful. I got my quotation changed many times and she got all the changes made in no time. The itinerary suggested was well thought and seems well researched. Our trip started with small glitch thanks to link failure at Bhutan immigration office but Ashish from Valley Tours And Treks was there with us all the time and he keeps on trying his level best. His help was much appreciated. Post that everything went well. Our driver was a Bhutanese guy and we really loved his company. In all hotels, our rooms with the extra bed were already ready before our arrival. Valley Tours And Treks kept in touch with me over WhatsApp. Everything went as planned. Bhutan is a lovely place to be. The most beautiful this about this place is People, one must try interacting with them. They are really sweet people and friendly people. The second thing is natural beauty. Most monuments are religious in nature and they keep getting monotonous after some time, So you can choose where all you want to go and where you want to skip. Remember at most places there are entry tickets and it starts from Rs 100 and goes as high as Rs 300 at some places. So keep cash in hand, cards are not accepted everywhere. The food is good. We being vegetarian had absolutely no issue as Indian food is part of every menu. One also must try ema datshi the national dish of Bhutan. It's quite spicy so you must mention to them to keep it less spicy. Do carry some warm clothes even in the summertime especially if you are traveling with kids. Always tip, if there is no service charge in the bill. And yed insist for Bhutanese guide cum driver, it makes lot of difference.

It's very pleasant and nice trip Except food in hotel nordenma all other things covered well. I felt the hotel stay little bit away from city. I would be more happy if the hotels were booked in city, and shopping, market near by places. I felt little inconvenience while visit shopping and city market places in thimpu as well paro. Hotel river front is new hotel and food is very good, hotel Staff also nice people. But location is far from city. That's only negative aspect Really enjoyed trip with Travel Triangle Thanks

First of all let me give a BIG Thank you to Mr Chencho Dorji as the trip would not have been so superb and rich in knowing the facts & historical content without him. Mr Dorji was very well behaved, educated, intellect, have enough patience to accommodate our requests and so proud about his country which in line helped me and my family to experience the beautiful & delicate Bhutan. All the stays in different cities were seamlessly and very well arranged. Good hotels and good food. On one side I experienced the new Bhutanese dishes and my mother got her normal Indian delicacies which was really surprising. We did not experience any hiccup or tensed at any point during the trip. While travelling we made good, valuable and interesting conversation. I will definitely recommend Backyard Bhutan to other travelers planning to visit the country. The trip organized by Mr Dorji was superb. It was not hectic and we covered all places we thought of. Moreover since I was travelling with my old mother, little daughter and wife for which I was a bit concerned but thanks to Mr Dorji that all went smoothly and as planned. Please convey my regards to Mr Dorji. I will definitely suggest my friend and relatives to go for Backyard Bhutan through Travel Triangle. Thank you very much. As for Travel Triangle, to me they just act as a mediator website with no/little knowledge on the destination you are choosing. All that they give you is their authorized vendors ( local travel agent partners) whom you can work with and adjust your trip accordingly. They have little to do on my entire trip. This was a bit different & surprising as the feedback I got from my friends who have travelled to Vietnam /Cambodia & Kualalumpur/Lankavy. Maybe the travel advisor of Travel Triangle matters and may be in my case he was not very reactive or innovative. Request TT to look into the same internally.
