6-Day Kerala Tour: Kochi to Alleppey with Houseboat and Munnar 6 Days & 5 Nights

Reach Kochi Airport and go to your hotel. Start your trip by visiting Fort Cochin, a place full of old history and stories. See the Santa Cruz Basilica, Mattancherry Palace, and St. Francis Church. Walk through the famous Jew’s Street and enjoy the view of the big Chinese fishing nets at Fort Cochin Beach. In the evening, go shopping at LuLu Mall, the biggest mall in India. Later, return to your hotel for the night.

After breakfast, take a beautiful drive to Munnar (about 140 km, 4–5 hours). On the way, see the amazing Cheeyappara and Valara Waterfalls. When you reach Munnar, check into your resort surrounded by green tea gardens and hills full of plants and animals. In the afternoon, you can rest at the resort or walk around Munnar town. At night, relax and sleep at your resort.

Start your day with a delicious breakfast and set off for a sightseeing tour of Munnar. Visit the Tata Tea Museum and the Eravikulam National Park, home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. Savor local cuisine at a recommended restaurant. In the afternoon, take in the picturesque views at Mattupetty Lake and Dam, Echo Point, and various parks. The evening is free for leisure before you enjoy a restful night at the hotel.

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and travel about 125 km to Thekkady. The journey takes around 4 hours and goes through green hills, spice farms, and waterfalls. When you arrive, check into your hotel and enjoy the sounds of birds and nature. You can go for a boat ride at Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary to see animals, visit the spice gardens, and watch cultural shows like Kathakali dance and Kalaripayattu martial arts. Stay overnight in Thekkady.

After breakfast, travel about 160 km to Alleppey, which takes around 5 hours. By noon, get on your private houseboat. Relax as the boat floats through Kerala’s calm backwaters, and watch the green scenery and village life around you. Enjoy tasty meals on the boat, from drinks to dinner. Spend the night sleeping peacefully on the houseboat while it stays on the water.

After breakfast, leave the houseboat and drive about 70 km back to Cochin. On the way, stop at Marari Beach to enjoy the sand and sea. In Cochin, visit Marine Drive, the Jewish Synagogue, Dutch Palace, and St. Francis Church. Don’t forget to see the big Chinese fishing nets and take some photos. Finally, go to Cochin airport or railway station for your journey home.
