    Overview

Vietnam, is a long, thin country in Southeast Asia. Its neighbouring countries are China to the north, Laos and Cambodia to the west. Once a lesser-known destination, Vietnam has become widely popular family tour spot in recent years. With Hanoi consistently ranked among the world's top 10 destinations, one can now find tourists as far as in Ha Giang, one of the most remote mountainous provinces.

Due to its long history as a tributary state of China, as well as several periods of Chinese occupations, Vietnamese culture is heavily influenced by that of Southern China, with Confucianism forming the basis of Vietnamese society. The Vietnamese language also contains many loan words from Chinese, though the two languages are unrelated. Buddhism remains the single largest religion in Vietnam. Nevertheless, Vietnamese culture remains distinct from Chinese culture as it has also absorbed cultural elements from neighbouring Hindu civilizations such as the Champa and the Khmer empires. The French colonization has also left a lasting impact on Vietnamese society, with baguettes and coffee remaining popular among locals. You will get to visit a number of destinations on this family tour in Vietnam. Cu Chi is about 40 km northwest of Ho Chi Minh City in Southern Vietnam. The Cu Chi Tunnels are an elaborate underground community made up of 250 km of tunnels and chambers below the city. The tunnels were dug with simple tools and bare hands during the French occupation in the 1940s, and further expanded during the Vietnam War in the 1960s to provide refuge and a defensive advantage over the American soldiers. Hoi An is a beautiful city in Vietnam, just south of Da Nang. The Old Town of Hoi An is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnamese: Thành Ph? H? Chí Minh), commonly known as Saigon (Vietnamese: Sài Gòn) or by the abbreviations HCMC or HCM, is the largest city in Vietnam and the former capital of the Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam). Hanoi , the capital of Vietnam, and also its second largest city, is a fascinating blend of East and West, combining traditional Sino-Vietnamese motifs with French flair. It is largely unscathed from the decades of war, and is now going through a building boom, making it a rapidly developing city in Southeast Asia. Consistently ranked among the world's top 10 destinations, the city and its surrounding region get more tourists every day. Ha Long Bay (also "Halong Bay") is in northern Vietnam, 170 km (105 mi) east of Hanoi. The bay is famous for its scenic ocean karst topography and is often included in lists of natural wonders of the world. Ha long Bay is a bay located in the area of the Gulf of Tangkia, north of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Tam Coc, is in the middle of the rice fields and lime peaks. The area is somewhat similar to Halong Bay (it is well known as "Halong Bay on Land"), but more accessible. The main attraction of Tam Coc is the boat ride between the cliffs of the river and bicycling. One of Vietnam's most spectacular sights. It's an easy bicycle ride here from Ninh Binh, with no hills.

Find it hard to believe that this places was once a victim of a cruel war!

The trip starts with a visit to the Notre Dame Cathedral, the historic Central Post Office, followed by exploring the Reunification Palace, and the remarkable site of the War Remnants Museum.

For the second half of the day we will take you to Cu Chi located at 60km from HCMC. Cu Chi is now a popular spot for both Vietnamese & foreign tourists. It consist of a network of over 200 km of tunnels, which became legendary when they played a vital role in the War. In their heyday, the tunnels were functioning underground cities including numerous trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers & kitchens. Today, ducks and water buffalos happily coexist in the rivers along the side of the road. However, the peaceful rural rice paddy scenery belies the area’s violent history. You will find it hard to imagine the destruction, damage & defoliation over this whole area, caused by bombing and mines. There is plenty of evidence of the fierce battle that took place here during the 1960s when Cu Chi was a "Free Target Zone".

Start your tour in the morning, before entering the tunnels you can watch a short introductory video showing how the tunnels were constructed. You will spend the next hour exploring the tunnels. After the tour, enjoy tea and cassava (guerrilla’s food during the war). After the day’s excursions you will return to Sai Gon.

Whole trip was arranged very professionally except one day trip to Halong Bay on boat or Cruise. Cruise was kind of boat and service was below standards. Food served was very insufficient. Otherwise overall experience was very good like hotels, cab driver's and guide. Thanks for your Service. Special thanks to Offshore Travel Agency. They were very attentive to our queries.

We traveled as a group of 3 to Vietnam for 8 days and 7 nights. "S Vietnam trips" arranged our travel package and its lead, Michael was at the forefront of arranging everything with his assistant, Daisy. The trip exceeded our expectations and the quality of hotels, food and transit vehicles pleasantly surprised us. Furthermore, Michael was available to help us out 24*7, cleared all our queries, and helped with adjustments. Overall, thanks to S Vietnam trips and Michael for arranging this unforgettable trip for us.

We, a group of 3 friends, visited Vietnam and Cambodia. Hannah was our trip Organiser. She was very patient and helpful in customizing the trip to our needs. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip and felt very safe. Our tour guides were too good, our accommodations in all the destinations were neat, and the hotel receptionists were very hospitable. Hannah did a great job hosting us in prime locations so we could explore places on our leisure days. We loved the experience. Thank you Hannah for organizing such a memorable trip.

From the day one we have landed at Hochiminh City the Tour Itinerary was very well followed by Ms. Rossie . Very properly organized tour at every leg . From receiving hospitality to Mekong Delta tour, Cuci Tunnel tour to flight to Honai and later the Ninh Binh, Holang Bay tour as well as the guidance for local tour was excellent at every level. Keep it up. The Halong Bay Cruiseship experience really was out of the world class. Also the tour of Ninh Binh Pagoda and the sampan ( Boat) journey is really memorable. Myself with wife and son all 3 enjoyed our each and every moment at Vietnam. Thanks to Travel Triangle and Ms.Rossie of AAT.

Though the trip was good, hotels decent, we are a tad bit disappointed with the Travel agent Bamboo Hat. In Cambodia everything was perfect. Our coordinator and guide Mr. Sou Wat was there and kept us well informed about our schedule and was there with us till we got into the airport. It was the personal touch which made all the difference in leaving us with pleasant memories. Unfortunately, the personal touch was missing in Vietnam. We did not meet any representative from Bamboo Hat through the entire trip in Vietnam. Since Ms. Sophie had some family emergency, she could not be available, but someone else from the agency could have done the needful. Secondly, we wanted our separate transport and not been made part of a group. The impression we had that that it would be separate except while going to Halong. Traveling with a group is restrictive and not what we prefer. Again I will refer to Cambodia where we had our exclusive vehicle. However if I ignore my grievances, I would like to say that except for a couple of instances, things were pretty well organized, the vehicles good, food good, guides excellent especially Mr. Anh and Mr. Tranh who were very informative. Jerry and Shon were good too.
