Himachal Tour Package From Mumbai - At a Glance
This 8 nights 9 days Himachal tour package from Mumbai runs the full circuit rather than a two-town sampler. You start in Shimla and Kufri, move on to Manali for the Solang Valley and Atal Tunnel side, then finish in the quieter Dhauladhar belt of Dharamshala, Dalhousie and Khajjiar. It is built for a Mumbai traveller who wants to see the whole state in one trip.
Everything from the airport pickup to the final drop runs on a private cab, so you are not switching between local buses across nine days. Hotels, breakfast and dinner, and all the listed sightseeing are handled for you. The price starts at Rs 35,500 per person on twin sharing, and the itinerary is yours to change: add or drop a day, upgrade a hotel, or trade Khajjiar for extra time in Manali.

How to Reach Himachal From Mumbai
Himachal has no direct flight or train from Mumbai, so every route runs through Chandigarh or Delhi and then goes overland into the hills. Here is how the three options actually work for this trip.
By air (recommended):
The fastest way is a nonstop Mumbai to Chandigarh flight, roughly 2 hours 15 minutes. From Chandigarh it is about 113 km and a 3.5 to 4 hour drive up to Shimla, where your tour begins. If you would rather land closer to the Manali leg, Bhuntar (the Kullu-Manali airport, code KUU) is the nearest airport to Manali at about 50 km, but flights from Mumbai to Bhuntar connect through Delhi and cost more.
By train:
There is no direct train from Mumbai to Himachal. The usual route is Mumbai to Chandigarh or Kalka by rail, which takes 30 to 33 hours, followed by the road drive up. Choose this only if you have the days to spare and want to save on airfare.
By road:
Self-driving from Mumbai is close to 1,900 km each way and is not practical inside a 9-day window. Almost everyone flies to Chandigarh and lets the included private cab take over from there.
Flights are not part of the Rs 35,500 package price, so budget for them separately. Once you land, the cab, hotels and sightseeing on this itinerary are all arranged for you.

FAQs About Himachal Tour Packages
What is the best time to do this Himachal trip?
March to June is the popular summer window: comfortable days, open roads and full access to Solang and the Atal Tunnel side. September to November brings clear post-monsoon skies and thinner crowds. If snow is the goal, December to February works for Shimla and Manali, though some higher roads can close.
How do I reach Himachal from Mumbai for this 9-day trip?
There is no direct flight or train. The quickest route is a nonstop Mumbai to Chandigarh flight (about 2 hours 15 minutes), then a 3.5 to 4 hour drive to Shimla where the tour starts. You can also fly to Bhuntar (Kullu-Manali airport) via Delhi to land nearer Manali, or take the about 22 to 30 hour Mumbai to Chandigarh train if you prefer rail. Flights are not part of the package price.
What does the 8 nights 9 days route cover?
Two nights in Shimla (with Kufri), three nights in Manali (Hadimba Temple, Solang Valley and the Atal Tunnel), one night in Dharamshala, one in Dalhousie and one in Khajjiar. It is a loop that pairs the busy Shimla-Manali belt with the quieter Dhauladhar towns, so you see both sides of Himachal in one trip.
What is the price of this package from Mumbai, and what is included?
The package starts at Rs 35,500 per person on twin sharing. That covers 8 nights of hotels, daily breakfast and dinner, a private cab for the whole trip, airport transfers, all listed sightseeing and taxes. Flights, lunches and personal expenses are extra. The itinerary is customisable, so the final price shifts with your hotels and any add-ons.
Are Atal Tunnel, Solang Valley and Rohtang covered, and do I need permits?
Solang Valley is a full day on this trip, and you can drive the Atal Tunnel to Sissu when the road is open. The tunnel itself needs no permit. Rohtang Pass is a separate excursion that does need an online permit (rohtangpermits.hp.gov.in) and is closed on some days and through winter, so ask your planner to add it in advance if you want it.
Can I customise this itinerary or start from a different city?
Yes. Every day is adjustable. You can add or drop a night, upgrade hotels, or swap a location, for example more time in Manali instead of Khajjiar. The trip is designed for Mumbai travellers, but it can start from any city since flights are booked separately to Chandigarh or Delhi.
How fit do I need to be for this trip?
An average fitness level is enough. The itinerary is drive-and-sightsee rather than trek-heavy, so if you can manage a couple of days of light walking at hill-station altitude you are fine. The adventure activities at Solang and Khajjiar are optional.
Can I see snow in June?
Not in the towns. Shimla and Manali do not get fresh snow in June. You would only find it at higher elevations such as the Rohtang or Atal Tunnel side, or beyond in Lahaul and Spiti. For a proper snow trip, plan for December to February.
What is the legal drinking age in Himachal?
You must be at least 18 to buy or consume alcohol legally in Himachal Pradesh.
Is Himachal safe for tourists, including women travelling alone?
Himachal is one of India's safer states for travellers, and solo and women travellers generally report feeling comfortable. As anywhere, keep an eye on your belongings, stick to registered transport at night and share your itinerary with someone at home.
