Small mammals like mongooses’ badgers can be seen. Large animals like Himalayan cloud leopard, Snow jaguar are another tourist attraction. One can witness avian species like ducks’ teal’s plovers which migrate from Tibet.

Here the culture is diverse. Predominantly people practice Hinduism and Buddhism as per their religious beliefs. Temples and Buddhist type pagodas and monasteries can be seen in the town. One can also see Churches which are visited by Christians of the town. People here are music admirers. It is a niche hub of music. People play music instruments and sing which add up to their major hobbies. The area Darjeeling Mall is the most prominent place of the town. In one end there is band stand for local people to come and give live band performance. In month of October during Dussehra festivals there is regular music competition in this band stand which is added attraction for visit to Darjeeling in October.
