Arrival in Gangtok

While you are traveling to the hills via NJP is a beautiful feeling. NJP is a small hill station which will connect to hilly regions. Once you get down at NJP, get transferred to Gangtok. This journey might take roughly around 4.5 hrs. Once you reach Gangtok, you can check-in at the hotel You can rest for a day there. After the dinner, retreat to your room for a cozy night’s sleep.

Visit Tsomgo Lake

Get up early to leave the hotel for an early morning trip. From the hotel, you can go out to visit Tsongo Lake. This is a wonderful lake and a sight to behold. You will get to see mountains in the backdrop which will be covered with snow. You will also get to see Yak which is decorated with multi-colored accessories. After the Yak ride, don’t miss the ropeway. You will get to see the enchanting beauty of the surroundings. You will need a permit and a proof to visit this part of Sikkim. This place is quite close to Nathula pass.

Complete your breakfast and move forward to see the Baba Mandir. From there, you can directly go to visit the Baba Mandir. This is one of the most visited places by tourist. This Mandir is dedicated to Baba Harbhajan Singh.

Come back to the hotel in the evening. Eat your dinner and sleep tight to feel refreshed for the journey the next morning.

Visit Lachen

Early in the morning, you can plan a trip to drive from Gangtok to Lachen after your breakfast. The drive will take you approximately 6 hours. This place is at an altitude of 8800 ft from Gangtok. On your way, you can visit the Seven Sister Waterfall, Singhik Viewpoint, and the Naga Waterfalls. On the way, you can stop for lunch at a local restaurant. At Lachen, you will reach by the evening. Check-in at the pre-booked hotel and relax in the room. Order your dinner and then enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.

Arrival in Lachung

At Lachen, complete your breakfast and then you can drive to see the beauty of Gurudongmar Lake. This place is located at an altitude of 17,800 ft. This lake is famous amongst the top 15 highest lakes in the world and the stands as the second lake in Sikkim and India. The name of this lake has a religious appeal. From here, you can see the Mount Siniolchu and Kanchendzonga. The view from here is breathtaking. To reach this place, tourists need to cross the Chopta Valley. While driving, it takes 7-8 hours to reach here. If you are looking for a calming peace, then it’s the best place for you. The best time to visit this place is during the summers, during the months of March to May. The temperature remains pleasant during that time. During winter, this valley is mostly frozen. Indulge in a lunch meal on the way to the hotel. Spend the night sleep and relaxing to take on the next day.

Visit Yumthang

After completing your breakfast, you can plan to visit Yumthang. This place remains closed during winter i.e. December to March. The temperature drops down and the valley gets frozen. Therefore, the best time to visit this place is during late February and by the mid of June. The flowers take over and cover the complete landscape. To a creative eye, it might look like a rainbow of flowers. While returning, you can visit the hot spring. This spring is quite famous and considered to have medical goods. Complete your lunch on the way. Come back to the hotel in the evening and stay overnight there.

Arrive Darjeeling

After breakfast, you can drive from Gangtok to Darjeeling. You might take 3 hours approximately to reach Darjeeling. When you reach Darjeeling, you can check-in at the hotel. Complete your lunch and take a day’s rest in the hotel. Enjoy the evening as per your liking. Complete your dinner and stay overnight in the hotel.

Darjeeling sightseeing

Visit Tiger Hill early in the morning, where you will get a spectacular sunrise view over Mt. Kanchenjunga. It will be your most mesmerizing memory. When you return from there, you can visit the Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. If you are looking for some peace in your trip, then visiting the Ghoom Monastery is a must. From the Batasia Loop, you will get to see Darjeeling in a better way. You will get the 360-degree view of the place. Complete your breakfast, and then if you wish, you can visit some of the interesting places nearby. Some of them would be Tea Garden, the Japanese Temple, and the Ropeway. Come back to the hotel in the evening. Relax and then complete your dinner. Overnight spent at the hotel.

Get up early as you will have to catch the train from NJP station or flight from IXB Airport. Complete your breakfast and then the hotel will provide you with the transport, which will drop you to the airport or railway station. Leave the place with heart-warming memories.
