Dabolim airport is the nearest airport to Gokarna which is around 140 km away and takes a 3 to 4 hour road journey to reach Gokarna. The nearest railway station to Gokarna is situated at Ankola which is about 20 kms away from the place. Trains from different parts of India including Mumbai, Thiruvananthapuram halt at the station.From the station one can easily book a taxi to reach Gokarna.

Gokarna is located 10 km off to the NH 17 and is well connected by road to the cities. By KSRTC, buses runs regularly from Bangalore, Mangalore, Hubli to Gokarna. Also from Madgaon, Goa one can easily get a bus to Gokarna.

The best time to visit Gokarna is during the monsoon and winter when the weather is pleasant and the climate is perfect for holiday on the beach. If you visit in the summer, be prepared for heat and humidity!

The only beach where camping is allowed is the Paradise beach. You can definitely camp here for a night but you have to carry all the necessities with you. There are no shops or restaurants in Paradise beach. So, you have to carry your own tent, water, food and etc.
