    Overview

It is impossible to speak of the tourism potential of India without considering the many sites all around the country that build up and showcase the rich cultural heritage and diversity of the region. Every single place within the borders of this fascinating land is a tiny piece of the bigger puzzle that is the story of this country and its many religions, each with their own customs and traditions. You could travel to any corner of India and find a place that adds to the density of the mythology that is present in the land.

One place that exemplifies the reputation that India has as a place of many tales that have been passed down from generation to generation to create an intricate tapestry that forms our culture today is a little town that is situated on the western fringes of our coastline, called Gokarna. You may travel here with the help of one of our many Gokarna sightseeing packages. The biggest draw that Gokarna has is the immense significance it has among worshippers of the Hindu faith, due to the presence of the many sites here that are dedicated to Lord Shiva, the God of destruction. However, it is not simply the sacred nature of the village due to the numerous temples here that make it a wonderful place to visit.

The surrounding landscape is just as alluring for visitors as the pious monuments scattered within its vicinity. Since the town is located right along the border of a beachfront, there is plenty of opportunity for those who enjoy a stroll in the evening, accompanied by a soothing breeze that drifts towards you from the vast seascape right alongside you. There are also great rivers that flow nearby as well as massive forts that have stood the test of time on the itinerary from the Gokarna sightseeing packages that TravelTriangle have for you to pick from.

    Mirjan Fort

The great river Aghanashini, on its route towards the west to meet with the Arabian Sea, bends and twists a great deal during the course of its flow. In one such bend, it has formed a creek, which came to be known as the Tadri Creek. This Tadri Creek is where Mirjan Fort was built, possibly more than 400 years ago. While today, a fair amount of the fort has crumbled due to the wear and tear caused by nature over the course of centuries, a great deal of its structure is still intact and worth exploring. Said to be the seat of Queen Chennabhairadevi of Gersoppa, an ally of the Vijayanagara Empire, a decent amount of the Fort is still intact and worth visiting.

For a detailed perspective of the beauty of this village and its surroundings, these Gokarna sightseeing packages will be of great help to you.

    Highlights

    • See the culture of the village of Gokarna
    • Seek the blessings of the shrines in the village
    • Fun and Frolic on the beautiful beaches nearby
    • Explore the forts that are still standings after centuries

Forts on the riverbanks, temples on the shorelines

After breakfast in the morning, the tour begins in earnest as we head towards the banks of the river Aghnashini, specifically the Tadri Creek that has been formed as a result of its flow. Along these banks is the majestic Mirjan Fort. Within the fort’s walls, multiple deep wells have been found. There is also evidence of a massive darbar hall, many secret passages, presumably for the purposes of hiding or escaping and even its own, bustling marketplace. Shrines to various Hindu Gods and Goddesses have also been found here, under a big tree in the courtyard. A number of ruins around the fort have been restored to some degree by the Archeological Survey of India.

Coming back to the town itself, we are graced by the presence of the holy Kotitirtha. Translating to “a thousand springs”, Kotitirtha is a man-made water tank that is considered to be sacred by the local people. The water in it is used primarily for taking baths as part of the customs during certain festivals as well as for the immersion of idols. A feature of Kotitirtha is the Shivalinga located right in the middle of the water on a platform., illuminated by a towering light during the nighttime. The day ends with the sunset, as we return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Temples and beaches along the edge of the land

The third day of the tour kicks off with some breakfast, after which we witness more of the sights that Gokarna has to show us. The first of these is another temple, and there are a couple of stories from mythology that speak of how it came to be.

Start off at Kudle Beach, then travel southwards to Om Beach, from where we trek to the Half Moon Beach. Further along on a trek through the hills and forests ahead of the Half Moon Beach is the Paradise Beach. Each of these beaches offers stunning looks at the seascape that stretch out in front of them, with some even having activities such as canoeing, jet-skiing or dolphin spotting. We return to your hotel in Gokarna at the end of the day and turn in for the night.

Hi, Now we get call from Travel Triangle executive only for money. My trip was arranged by Blissful Journey through Travel Triangle. I say thanks to executive of Blissful Journey for arranging the trip and the executive (Gagan) was in contact also during the whole trip. This was my fourth trip through Travel Triangle. Travel Triangle was not prompt in providing quotations initially. I had to call Sujata for providing quotations. This time response was not as per expectation from Travel Triangle. We expect better service from Travel Triangle. Jog Falls, Krishna Math (Udupi), Om Beach (Gokarna), Konkan Railway

Piyalius's 4 days trip to Karnataka

Amazing experience with the travel planning, places planned for visit and the travel company. Driver Rajith was amazing and our experience with him made the trip memorable. The hotels in Udupi and Murudeshwar were awesome with amazing services. The Udupi cottage was very well maintained considering there was only 1 person running the entire show. The food was just very very tasty. The stay in Murudeshwar in RN Residency just made the trip something to remember. Food was very tasty too. Gokarna hotel was extremely poorly maintained. We changed rooms because the fan was not working in the room provided and it was on the 2nd floor. My mother could not walk up and down. There was no lift. The rooms below was bad as it was full of mosquitoes. My elder son and husband both got dengue after coming back. The dinner and breakfast buffet was awful but the alacarte lunch was only something worth remembering. Overall, the trip was good considering Rajith's hospitality and Udupi and Murudeshwar stays. Thanks to Shyam Mishra and Mukesh for planning the trip well.
