Kerala Tour Packages(4D/3N): About
This four-day trip is built for Bhubaneswar travellers who want the best of Kerala without a long leave from work. You land at Cochin and drive straight up into the tea country, spend two unhurried nights in Munnar, then float a night away on a private Alleppey houseboat. Along the way you pass Cheeyappara and Valara Falls on the hill road (Athirappilly, the Baahubali waterfall, can be added as a detour), and cover Munnar's headline sights: Eravikulam National Park, the Tea Museum, Mattupetty Dam and Echo Point. Kochi is your arrival and departure gateway, and if you have a day or two more, Thekkady and its Periyar wildlife add easily to the plan. It is a short, well-paced first taste of Kerala, and every day of it can be tailored to how you like to travel. For the full spread of options see our Kerala tour packages collection.

Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Cochin, drive to Munnar
We pick you up at Cochin airport, railway station or bus stand and set off for Munnar. The road climbs the NH85 hill route via Kothamangalam and Adimali through spice and tea country, with Cheeyappara and Valara Falls tumbling beside the highway. Athirappilly Falls, the Baahubali waterfall, lies about 55 km north of the airport in Thrissur district, in the opposite direction from Munnar. Adding it as a detour roughly doubles the day's driving and means reaching Munnar by evening rather than afternoon, so ask your planner if you want it included. On the standard route you reach Munnar by afternoon and check into your hotel. There is time in the evening to walk the local market and pick up a few spices or souvenirs before dinner.
Day 2: Munnar sightseeing
After breakfast you head out to Eravikulam National Park, home to the Nilgiri tahr. The park closes each year for the tahr calving season, roughly February to late March or early April, so on those dates your planner swaps in another Munnar sight. From there the day covers the Tea Museum, Photo Point, Mattupetty Dam, the Elephant Arrival Point and Echo Point, the classic Munnar circuit. There is time for local shopping before you return to the hotel for dinner and the night in Munnar.
Day 3: Munnar to Alleppey houseboat
You check out after breakfast and drive down to Alleppey to board your houseboat. Settle in, then cruise the lakes, lagoons and canals of the backwaters through the afternoon. Lunch, evening tea with snacks and dinner are all served on board, and you stay the night on the water.
Day 4: Departure from Cochin
A relaxed breakfast on the houseboat, then you check out and we transfer you back to Cochin for your onward flight or train home to Bhubaneswar.

Kerala from Bhubaneswar: how to reach, cost & best time
How to reach Kerala from Bhubaneswar
Most Odisha travellers fly. Bhubaneswar (BBI) connects to Cochin International Airport (COK) with one-stop flights via Bengaluru, Hyderabad or Chennai, usually five to seven hours including the layover. Trivandrum (TRV) is the other gateway if your onward plan suits the south of the state. Prefer the train? Connecting services run from Bhubaneswar to Ernakulam Junction, the railhead for Kochi, but it is a long haul of roughly 36 to 40 hours, so flying is the practical choice for a four-day trip. Whichever you pick, your package begins with pickup at Cochin, so you do not have to arrange local transport.
What the tour costs from Bhubaneswar
The land package starts at INR 11,625 per person on twin sharing for 4 days and 3 nights. That covers your stay, daily breakfast, the houseboat with all meals, and every transfer and sightseeing drive by AC vehicle. Airfare from Bhubaneswar is separate, which lets you book the flight fare and timing that suit you. What moves the final price is the travel season, the hotel category you choose, the houseboat grade, and any add-ons like a Kochi city day or a Thekkady extension.
Best time to visit
September to March is the peak window, with cool, clear weather for Munnar's hills and the Alleppey backwaters. June to September brings the monsoon, when rates ease and the hills turn deep green, which is the season many travellers pick for Ayurveda. For a month-by-month view of the whole state, see our Kerala travel guide.
Customise your trip
Every day of this itinerary can be changed. Add nights, fold in a Kochi city day at Fort Kochi and the Chinese fishing nets, or extend to Thekkady for Periyar wildlife and spice plantations. Customisation is free, and your travel expert confirms the final plan and quote before you pay.
Why book this trip with TravelTriangle
TravelTriangle has served 19,403+ travellers for Kerala through a network of 650+ verified local agents, and this package holds a 4.2 stars rating from 4,240 travellers. You compare quotes from vetted Kerala specialists, customise freely, and pay a partner who runs this route every week rather than a one-off listing.
“For Odisha guests I always route the arrival through Cochin, not Trivandrum. COK puts you three to four hours from Munnar, so the waterfall and tea-estate drive on Day 1 actually earns its place instead of eating the afternoon,” says the lead planner at the TravelTriangle Kerala desk.
