Mcgregornick's 4 days trip to Kerala

Our 4 day tour of Kerala was pretty good. The tour is very prepackaged with the driver taking you to the sites he thinks you’ll want to see (the same ones everyone else is sent to see) so it doesn’t suit individuals looking to get off the beaten track. For example, we stopped at the same waterfalls as everyone else, went to the same tea museum and national park as everyone else and were scheduled to go to the same dam as everyone else (we opted out). There is no asking you what you want to do or getting to know your preferences; you are treated as just another uneducated tourist to fleece. Our driver was courteous but initially used his phone a lot while driving (videos, talking and texting) but stopped after I asked him to. Our private Alleppey houseboat was clean and beautiful but the cruising part itself was disappointing. We were only underway for a total of 3 hours out of our 20+ hours on board, meaning we were docked for 15 hours, tied up to shore. You get dropped off at the boat, cruise for 30 minutes to a small shop downriver, get the hard sell on some prawns (2000 rupees a kilo), cruise for 30 more minutes, tie up at shore, eat lunch (very tasty), crew naps, after 1.5 hours stopped, you start to cruise onto the main body of the lake, cruise for 2 hours in what is ultimately a loop and return to the exact place you boarded the boat. You tie up and sit there until 9 am the next morning, despite our itinerary clearly saying we were to cruise from 8-9 am. The boat is cool but, again, you feel like you’re getting cheated out of the 5 hours of cruising you are promised. Also, when you see 50 other boats right next to you doing the exact same thing, it takes away from the experience. Being docked on shore for the vast majority of the trip, you wonder what’s the point of getting a houseboat? Hotels in the area are much cheaper and with a day cruise, you would get to see the same things we saw. The company rep did not often respond to my messages during the trip, instead choosing to ignore rather than help solve issues. Overall, Travel unbounded isn’t bad but they aren’t great either; you leave with a lackluster vacation experience.

We managed to have a good trip thanks to Travel Unbounded team. Rain played spoil sport in Houseboat. The houseboat was given in Kumarakom while the vouchers had it in Allepey! Houseboat needed much of cleanliness. But food was delicious and crew were very nice. TT has very bad cancellation policies. In a human society plans do go haywire but TT deducts hefty amounts in case of cancellation. And the tour guide Varsha was simply unreachable and messed up entire thing when she picked call. High time TT to become customer friendly else no point paying a platform aggregator substantial amounts for almost nothing... But Travel Unbounded helped ensure overall good expereince. Driver Mr Praveen was excellent gentleman. Happiness was when the weather unexpectedly becomes clear in Munnar and houseboat. Travel agent does not pick our call only WhatsApp chat communication. We can’t type each and every thing when we are in urgency. And did not receive my cab details and house details till last minute and that too until you ask. No proper planning. And also cab driver they assigned don’t know other than local language, this made my journey quite difficulty. Overall below average experience.

The resort was very very interior and rooms had no balconies and was boring. The House boat given to us was the very old house boat . Didn't get the vibe of the house boat... Cab and the cab driver was the best in our tour.... Will not recommend Namaskaar travels to anyone....

Over all my trip is good, hotels and car driver assigned for entire trip are really good, but when I have issue with something at hotel I called service agent and he didn’t respond and no one from their team tried to help me and myself sorted the issue. So didn’t understand the reason for paying additional amount for best service.

Was in touch during the travel to ensure everything went smoothly. Resorts and cab services were decent and we didn't face any problem. Thanks to Postcard Trip and Anupam! This vacation was very good experience. Especially i was traveling with kid and senior citizens. Everyone enjoyed the trip except for few descrepancies with food and road ways travel. Driver was excellent in driving but could have been more communicative and could have suggested us on timings and places when and how to visit. As we were not aware of the distance and other things, very long road travel made us a bit tired which could have been better by having some spots to visit in between the travel from munnar and allapey. Special mention on Janit, Very well organised in getting us arranged with this trip and getting us help wherever required. much appreciated on you work, Thanks a lot Janit
