Start your journey from One Tree Hill, a volcanic cone that was once considered to be the greatest fortress in the city. One of the key villages of the strait, back in the day, the Cornwall Park Information Center has a fascinating interactive display of what the place would have looked like when 5000 people resided here. Then we move on to the Mt. Eden Hill, which is considered to be the highest volcanic cone of Auckland. Drive along the Tamaki Drive and enjoy stunning views of the Bastion point. Finally, visit the Sky Tower, from where the entire city is laid out in front you. An observation, restaurant and telecommunication tower, this is the tallest building in New Zealand. After the day is well spent, drive back to your hotel and retire for the night.

Notoriously close to the metropolitan city of Auckland, Coromandel offers a quick and splendid isolation spot.

Coromandel is a place where people often overstay their expectations. Its dramatic, mountainous spine bisects it into two very distinct parts: the east coast, with some of the best white sand beaches, and the western side with its cutesy gold mining towns.
