Positives: ✅ Seamless Booking & Execution: The vendor ensured that all hotel bookings and the promised vehicle were exactly as agreed upon, which we appreciated. ✅ Comfortable Journey: The car provided was as committed, making long travel days convenient. ✅ Minimal Interference: The vendor gave us full autonomy in navigating our itinerary, which was great since we had planned everything ourselves. ✅ Warm Hospitality in Assam & Arunachal Pradesh: The locals in these states were incredibly welcoming and made our stay enjoyable. Areas for Improvement:  Driver's Role & Proactiveness: The driver was polite and followed our itinerary as instructed. However, he was merely a driver, not an experienced travel guide. He lacked knowledge of local places, best routes, and recommendations, making navigation solely our responsibility.  Cleanliness & Meal Stops: The driver never proactively cleaned the car daily. Additionally, he prioritized his own meal breaks, often stopping at places that suited him without considering our preferences. As pure vegetarians, we expected him to ensure stops at vegetarian-friendly places, but he never took this into account unless we explicitly asked. While this wasn’t due to bad intent, it reflected a lack of awareness and guest consideration.  Vendor Engagement: The North East Window Travels representative reached out only 2-3 times during the trip, primarily for ticket bookings of specific attractions. We never had a chance to meet him or his team in person. A more personal welcome or at least a single meet-up would have added a more hospitable touch. That said, their minimal involvement also meant zero interference, allowing us full control over our journey.  Delayed Hotel Payments: In 2-3 hotels, while the reservations were confirmed, the vendor had not made timely payments, leading to unnecessary waiting at check-out while they settled the dues. This could have been handled more efficiently.  Itinerary Guidance & Missed Advice: Though we designed the itinerary ourselves, we expected the vendor to provide valuable inputs. For example, Meghalaya was not in its best season during our visit, and a proactive recommendation to reconsider it would have been appreciated. Similarly, spending two nights in Kaziranga was unnecessary, as the main attraction—the one-horned rhino—was easily visible in the open plains. The elephant safari at 6 AM followed by a rushed jeep safari at 8:30 AM felt excessive, costly, and not worth the time or effort. We wish the vendor had advised accordingly. Destination Ratings & Key Takeaways: ⭐ Arunachal Pradesh - 9/10 → The most breathtaking part of the trip. Totally worth visiting! ⭐ Assam - 6/10 → Kaziranga was overhyped. One safari was sufficient, and two nights there felt unnecessary. ⭐ Meghalaya - 3/10 → Not the best season to visit, and the people were not as warm as in Assam and Arunachal. Final Verdict: While the beauty of Arunachal Pradesh made the trip truly special, the execution from the travel vendor could have been more proactive, attentive, and engaging. Travellers expecting a hands-off approach will find their service adequate, but those seeking expert guidance should set clear expectations upfront. Would I recommend North East Window Travels? Yes, of course, any day to anyone! Caveats—For us, they delivered on logistics (which was our main requirement) but they could have gone the extra mile in guest experience or expert recommendations and corrected us when needed while planning the itinerary. If you're self-sufficient and want a vendor who simply arranges bookings, they’re a good choice. If you expect personalized service, itinerary guidance, and a more immersive experience, you might want to ensure more engagement before finalizing your booking.
