With star-shaped architecture, the Thousand Pillar Temple consists of three shrines devoted to Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Surya. The temple, built by Rudra Deva in 1163 AD, is also known as Sri Rudreswara Swamy Temple. The three shrines in the temple are collectively called Trikootalayam. The temple, consisting of thousand pillars, exhibit Kakatiya and Chalukyan architecture.
