Suman's 6 days trip to Kerala

This was my second trip to Kerala and I booked a package for 5N 6D with Postcard travels which costed me around 62K for 4 adults and 1 child. 1.My trip started from Munnar and we were booked at a hotel Atwood which was at Pottankadu which is atleast 15 kms from main attractions at Munnar which is I think OK as in the main city of Munnar we don't have pretty good hotels. But the room provided to us at first was horrible as it didnt even have any window. which after a few discussions with the manager at the hotel, they were kind to change it to 2 suite rooms for 2 nights which I am very thankful for. but the food there was very BAD. you get only 2 options in breakfast, either idli-sambhar or set dosa and bread(not toasted)and butter which tasted sweet. at dinner on first night , we ordered dal fry, phulka and some chilly dish(i dont remember), the phulkas were like the size of a puri and the dal fry was not good at all. so the second night, we preferred to get our dinner from outside. 2. On our 3rd day, we went to Allepey where we reached our houseboat where the only the captain of the houseboat knew some english and was able to understand but the cooks weren't able to understand us. the lunch was seved right away and it was OK-ish as we were pretty hungry at 3 Pm and had our food without any issues. but the houseboat has a policy that the ACs will only work from 9 PM to 6 AM which I understand because the boats work on generators and hence they won't be able to provide that much electric supply. but there wasn't even a good table fan or wall fan to sit and relax. there was only one stand fan available at the common sitting area which was almost broken and didnt work properly to cover the range of 5 people sitting in front of it on 2 sofas. at night, we were provided chicken curry in dinner which was so spicy that the adults in our group had a hard time having it, let alone there was a 5 years old child in our group. I informed about this to the cook but he just made a face(probably didnt understand what I meant, I dont know). the AC worked at night but it constantly made noises all the time like a cricket insect. 3. on our 4th day, we checked out of our houseboat at around 9:15 AM and unfortuntely, our driver's car got some issues in its brakes and we had to wait for almost 40 mins at a garage until the car got fixed, which I understand is nobody's fault as these mechanical issues can always happen. we reached Kovalam and after taking the turn from the main road at Kovalam it took almost 20-25 mins to reach our hotel, that bad was the hotel's location. Though the hotel staffs were very polite and helpful, they didnt understand much english so we had a hard time ordering food from restaurant which also didnt have much options even if they said they had so many items in their menu card. Though their was a walking path that directly went into the Lighthouse beach and it just took 5 mins walking to reach there, but by car, the hotel is pretty interior to reach. 4. on our 4 th day, we had out Kanyakumari trip scheduled and driver said we need to leave by 10 AM but as were not well after the long drive from Allepey to Kovalam the day before, we left at 11 AM but asked the driver if we could skip waiting at Poovar and directly go to Kanyakumari but he said there's a 1.5-2hours waiting time to get the permit at Tamilnadu border and so we had out boatride at Poovar during that time and then we stopped for lunch midway to Kanyakumari. Throughout all this time, driver didn't mention once that the ticket window for the ferry to Vivekananda Rock closes at 4 PM and so when we reached the gates at 4:15 PM, we found the window closed and weren't able to visit Vivekakanada rock and instead watched it from the shores itself. 5. After the Kanyakumari disaster, we planned to get ready on time and asked the driver when do we need to leave from Kovalam to visit the Padmanabhaswamy temple at Trivandrum, so he mentioned that the temple closes at 12 PM and we need to checkout from hotel and leave Kovalam by 10 AM the next day. So we were ready in time, checked out from our hotel and reached the parking(which was around 200 m from the hotel reception) at 10 :15 AM but the driver had already texted me on Whatsapp at 5:40 AM that he is leaving for his home due to an emergency and he arranged for a separate cab for airport drop after temple visit, but the new cab somehow arrived at the parking where we were standing at around 10:50 AM and this new cab's driver didnt understand a single word of english except 'OK'. we somehow reached the temple at 11:40 AM , entered the temple with our dhotis on but the queue was long that the temple closed its main gate where we do darshan at 12 AM and we weren't able to do our darshan. we left from the temple after looking around for sometime at 12:15 PM and went to have lunch at a hotel midway and asked the driver to drop us at airport at around 3 PM.

Sharab's 7 days trip to Kerala

It was a nice trip overall. only issue was with stay: 1. Allepey boat house was not that great, they took us a ride till 5.30 PM and in the morning the boat was started at 8.30 AM. 2. Kovalam (unwind hotels and resorts) - It does not look like a 3 star hotel (eg ambiance, basic things..etc). Staff was cooperative and food was tasty. Cab facility: Mr Jitin was friendly and helped us a lot in our trip. He has taken care of everything in our trip. My wife lost her handbag, thanks to Jitin he got it back through his contacts. Distance: Munnar to Thekkady to Allepey and to Trivandrum - distance is too much and we have to spend almost 24 hours in travel.

Hotel Clouds Valley at Munnar was only Good Rest Sopanam Heritage Guruvyaur was very clumsy with no AC it was very hot to stay, even the fan was also not in good condition food was not at all good and over rated. Ocean Heritage at Kanyakumari was also not good all old furniture and damp smell , breakfast was ok, near to the temple. Worst experience at Kovalam Adams Beach resort which was the most awaited part of the tour, no doubt it is near to beach but the road to reach hotel was like roller coster and we have to park our vehicle far away from the hotel has it cannot go till hotel . Even there was no road we have to cross narrow lanes between homes which felt like slum area. Food was also not good and staff were more friendly only to foreign customers. And the rooms were located on the second floor with no lifts only staircase which was very steep. Here we had 2 nights stay which we cancelled and left for Trivandrum. Allepey’s Pagoda Resort was the last destination which was also not up to the mark of expectation. No doubt big rooms but not kept properly old type furniture and locks , there was timing for hot water and so far from the city that you cannot go by yourself anywhere around. Food was ok hotel staff getting confused if ask something. I would suggest not to go for Adams beach resort and Pagoda beach resort strongly. Our tour adviser Mr Ankit Khariya co-ordinate well , but my advise to Mr Ankit when you are busy with any function where in you cannot attend the phone atleast he should depute some one to attend the call

We recently went on a personalised 7N 8D trip to Kerala through Namaskaram Travels. Right from the airport pickup to last day airport drop was well planned by them and executed perfectly. The itinerary was well thought of without any wastage of time or day. The hotels were nice. What I really liked was Ankit kept in touch with me right from the time I landed in Trivandrum till I caught my flight back home in Cochin. He ensured that everything went smoothly and without any hassles. Keep up the good work guys. Rahul from Explore Travels was very helpful. There were few issues with the hotels but he resolved it immediately. Driver Praveen was very rude and was not informative at all. In Munnar, my kids were having nausea due to mountain roads and he made us clean his car by water and tissues multiple times and he was not ready to open the windows saying that I am a full time AC driver and we should have selected non AC driver. In Kanyakumari he just left us at one place and said to ask the local people to guide us the places to visit. He did not guide us anything about Kerela as it was our first trip to Kerela. Due to kids we skipped many places, instead asked him to take us to market for shopping but he denied in Munnar as well as in Trivandrum. However we enjoyed our trip. Alleppy houseboat experience was very good. Apart from Driver every thing was amazing. Recommend Explore travels for future trips. Rahul from Explore Travels was very helpful. Roshan's 7 days trip to Kerala

First of all Mr. Anil Kashyap helped me with customizing the trip, and provided with the ample no. of 3 /4 star hotels as per my budget and also kept me updated with the nipah virus situation by getting the updates from the existing clients which were already on a kerela trip, which made me tension free for the trip. And most important for the trip to go very smoothly, he provided the experience driver Mr. Sunil Surendra who was polite, friendly and having much knowledge of every corner of kerela and its spots with the time duration. So, he used to plan each and every day very wisely, also he used to be present at 8:30am sharp in the morning to start the day early as there is lot of distance about 4-5 hrs between every spots to cover. We have customize the trip as below: 1 day Cherai 2 days Munnar 1 day Thekkady 1 day Allepey 2 days trivandrum. Started with Kochin Airport and departed with Trivandrum airport. But my suggestion will be u can take 1 day trivandrum and 1 day for Kanyakumari instead. Also try to carry ample of cash for adventure activites as there is network issue so upi payments wont work. Also been maharashtrian, I didn't like the taste of the non veg, chinese food, so my suggestion will be try to order simple veg food as the taste of there food is quite a bit different which u may or may not like. Last and the least, It was indeed a wonderful and a memorable trip, were we enjoyed a lot clicking pics on every possible spots which we cover with proper time limits. Once again many thanks to Mr. Anil and mainly to the driver Mr. Sunil Surendra.

I have booked a package with travel triangle and visited places Madhurai, Rameshwaram, Kanyakumari and Trivandrum. The process was clearly explained and itenrary was given as per our requirement. We have got an excellent driver named Hussain. To my surprise he was very knowledgeable explaining about the history and importance of the places a d temples we have visited. He had never wanted our time and always shows up on time. We have travelled along with my grandmother aged 85 and never faced any issues due to the driver who managed to drop and pick up at nearest or least walking distances. We managed to cover the below places in our 4 night 5 days trip. We were total 8 ( along with my 85 years grand mother and 3 years kid) Madurai (Hotel Rajadhane) 1. Meenakshi and Sundareshwar Temple 2. Thirumala Nayakkar Mahal 3. Gandhi memorial museum 4. Vandiyur Mariamman Teppakulam 5. Lord Murugan Pzhalamudir solai 6. Azhagar koyil Rameshwaram (Hotel Rameshwaram Grand) 1. Abdul Kalam Memorial 2. Lakshmana teertham 3. Panchamukha anjaneyar 4. Floating stones shrine 5. Natarajan temple 6. Rama teertham 7. House of Abdul Kalaam 8. Kalaam sea shell Mart (Shopping at govt complex) 9. Dhanushkodi 10. Kodandarama temple 11. Rameshwaram temple Kanyakumari (Hotel Gopinivas grand) 1. Vattakotti fort 2. Sunset point 3. Musical fountain 4. Sunrise point 5. Kanyakumari amman temple 6. Vivekananda Rock memorial 7. Thiruvalluvar statue Poovar, Kovalam & Trivandrum (Hotel Golden sands resort, kovalam) 1. Sskavya's 6 days trip to Kerala

Great Experience with Travel triangles & travel unbound. one of customer service agent Mamta. She helped a lot to get the best deal. I found very easy the way she gave me all information for booking my flight & destination details. It’s very friendly and easy to use. However, I have few concerns with the Driver who accommodated for entire trip. The driver didn’t gave much information on which place we are going based on the itinerary. Day 1: Cochin to Munnar was smooth journey. Day2: Munnar day trip – Driver didn’t take us to Ernakulam National Park as he suggested it would be too crowded, Kundale Lake he conveyed to us that we cannot go there in his car, and we need to take local Jeep service who charged very high . Day3: Munnar-Thekkady-We missed Spice plantation visit. Day4: Thekkady-Alleppey- Driver didn’t gave any information on local places except Houseboat. Day5: Alleppey to Kovalam The stay provided in kovalam is not upto the mark it looks like a very old building and they didnt even provided a kettle in the room. They only provided basic things line towels and some sanitary things. The driver didn’t have any information on local places and when we asked him to take us to a local restaurant for dinner, he refused it as its post 7PM. Day6: Trip to Kanyakumari This day is what we planned personally so he just dropped us at Kanyakumari temple and picked after we finished dharshanam. Day7: Trivandrum City tour The driver dropped us at temple for dharshanam and after dharshanm he suggested us to visit Zoo and dropped us there and picked us around 3.30Pm and we have asked him to suggested some other places to visit locally but he is not ready to take us anywhere and he insisted us to reach airport after the zoo visit as he has some other booking by 4.30 and he dropped us airport by 4PM as it’s a week trip we have heavy luggage we didn’t have any option to go anywhere locally. Overall, the Driver is not so communicative about the places and most importantly he is not communicating in English . Car seat doesn't support any pushback and it's not very comfortable for the people who sits in front seat and driver will not increase the ac even if it's too hot. The resort provided in Alleppey is highlite of the trip and Tekkedey elephant ride, kathakali and Kalari shows are must visit. House boat is good experience . Munnar rides are awesome the rose garden we visited in munnar gave a Beautiful eye feast though its a hot summer .

Kerala trip *Hotels... about Last hotel @kovalam plus point- have a private beach Negative point- don't have intercom facility at room everytime you have to go to the reception for asking breakfast * Driver & Cab Driver was supporting and cab was also neat & clean * TRAVEL AGENT - agent has not guided properly to the driver about hotels... Last minute we came to know that package shows wrong hotel ..if they have properly informed driver and given details of hotel with contact number then journey could be smooth... Travel plan was not good as I am not aware about that places i expect from travel agent that they cover maximum attraction and less travelling.. eg. They could suggest me that first day should be sightseeing of cochin and from last day at kovalam I can fly by trivandrum airport.. there was no need to travel from kovalam to cochin only for catching flight...
