However, flying remains the most convenient and economical way to go from Ahmedabad to Bhutan. Here it is explained how to reach Bhutan from Ahmedabad by air, road, and railways.

This is the easiest location to reach from Ahmedabad, compared to the two other entrances which fall on the Assam-Bhutan border. One has to cross the entire horizontal stretch of the country to reach Jaigaon, where the permission to enter Bhutan from India has to be acquired.

Trip to BhutanTravel agent messed up with Bhutan permit. A day was wasted and had to hustle up in line for the permit. Other than that, driver and car was good, guide was a bit less informed. Hotels were good. All itinerary was covered even when we lost a day, and a few extra places as well.
Trip to BhutanNearly organized. Courteous and caring tour guides. Hygienic tasty food. Clean, pollution free, happy country with smiling people. Hike to Tiger Monastery, stay in the Kicchu resort and massage in Udumwara resort were the highlights.
Trip to BhutanGood. Stay in Hotel Ramada, trekking to Tiger's Best and visit to Buddha's monastery.
Trip to BhutanPunakha hotel was a disaster. Items sold in different places of bhutan are all supplied from jaigaon. Rate are more cheper in jaigaon. Drivers are local person. They should communicate these to the trourists.

Trip to BhutanOur trip was good, except for the hotel rules which asked us to return to hotel early. Hotel Tsheringma, in phuentsholing was very bad, the owner asked us to get out of the hotel on the last night, his behaviour was not at all proffesional. During the dinner, the first 5 members out of 15 started first, after 15 mins when the other 10 members came in, we were told that the chicken curry is finished, cannot get more. When we argued that how can 5 people eat chicken for 15 people, then they gave us more chicken. In the morning some of our members did not get omlete in breakfast stating the same reason.
