How To Reach Bhutan From Hyderabad

By Air: The easiest way to fly from Hyderabad to Bhutan is via Kolkata or Mumbai airport. There are direct flights to Paro from these two cities every day of the week operated by Bhutan’s main airlines, Druk Air. There are flights on other days of the week run by Bhutan Airlines as well. Paro is Bhutan’s main airport, which is connected with daily flights with India as well as Kathmandu, Dhaka, and Bangkok. While traveling Hyderabad to Bhutan by air directly is not an option, the travel time of the two flights combined – one from Hyderabad to Mumbai/Delhi/Kolkata and then from there to Paro comes to a little more than 4 hours. Thus it is still the most convenient way to travel by Hyderabad to Paro, Bhutan flights.

By Road: If you are traveling from Hyderabad to Bhutan by road, it will take long hours to make the journey. While it is not impossible, the time and effort are not worth it, especially through Indian roads. The road passes through Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, parts of Orissa and Jharkhand and finally through West Bengal to reach Jaigaon at the Bhutan border to get permission.

By Rail: There are no direct railway lines to Bhutan from any parts of India, but since the two countries share a border, there are Indian stations nearby. The nearest is Hasimara station, located 17 kilometers from the Indo-Bhutan border, from where cars can be availed to Bhutan. It can be reached by North Bengal-bound trains from Kolkata. So go from Hyderabad to Bhutan by train, one must reach Kolkata first.
