Climate in Paro

Summer Season in Paro

The average temperature in Paro, Bhutan during the summer season hovers around 22°C. The whole spring season and the early summers are the best time to visit Paro Bhutan. During this time, the skies start getting bluer and clearer. The rhododendrons are in full bloom by April. With an average low of 8-9°C and a high of 21-24°C, Paro weather in May and April are simply perfect for a vacation. Being located near the tropics and yet at a lower altitude than the mountains up north, Paro enjoys a typically subtropical highland climate throughout summer. Paro climate during this time is warm and very pleasant for outdoor trips like monastery visits, trekking and picnicking.

Monsoon Season in Paro

Like the rest of the subcontinent, Bhutan faces southwest monsoons during the months of June to July. The relentless showers ensure a humid climate till mid-September at the very least. Monsoons in the mountains are not a very safe bet. There can be landslides and road blockages from time to time, making transportation quite difficult. However, once the clouds go away, the months of October and November are ideal for a visit. Paro Bhutan weather during these two months is the most pleasant. The skies go back to being the blue of the spring; while the rivers, freshly fed by the rains are ferocious enough for a super-exciting session of water rafting or kayaking. With an average temperature of 25°C in September, visitors can enjoy all the outdoor excursions without any fear once again. All the trekking routes are safe, and the climate is brilliant as well.

Winter Season in Paro

Those who can tolerate slightly freezing climate, winters should not be a problem in Paro. Because of its position as a valley and proximity to the river, the wind might feel chillier than usual. But still, Paro weather in December and November gets an average minimum temperature of -1°C only. The only problem of travelling in Paro in December is the visibility. There are sudden fogs and lots of mists which lower the visibility of transportation. Activities like hiking and biking become difficult as well. Snowfall is not really common here, which makes sure that travelling in winter in Paro is not completely off the table.

Bobby's 4 days trip to Paro

I had specifically asked for 4 star properties and was quoted amount for the same. Lemon Tree thimpu is a 3 star property as per google and other major websites and Lemon Tree manager also said it is a 3 star property. Valley Travels passes it off as a 4 star Property. In Paro we were changed from Tashi Namgay, a 4 star property to tiger's Nest at the last minute. Tiger's Nest is a very old Property without proper plumbing and very far off from Airport as well as city center.

Ketan's 6 days trip to Paro

It was a good experience with BINC Bhutan. They provided Good hotels with upgrades wherever possible. All good places were recommended and covered. Very effective co-ordination by BINC team which made the visit very smooth and hassle-free. Some facts not in control of the agents - No role of the compulsory guide-not worth, most of the places have high entry fees (mostly not worth keeping in mind the place). Someone visited Sikkim/North-East may find Bhutan similar to that, so not all places are worth-visiting. Overall good experience. I recommend BINC.
