Information about Siem Reap
Before traveling, it is wise to consult a Siem Reap travel guide to know the basic points that a tourist needs to keep in mind. Here is all the essential Siem Reap information for traveling purpose.
Siem Reap Weather:
Siem Reap experiences the best weather conditions from November to April. This is the so-called winter time, but the temperature does not go chilly because of its tropical climate. The average temperature throughout the year remains at around 25°C-30°C. However, the humidity is low, and the weather is dry, which makes this time the perfect for a visit to Cambodia and Siem Reap. Being far away from the sea in the north-west also gives the advantage of lesser humidity than the eastern and southern parts of the country. The summer and the monsoon months from May to September are usually hot and humid. December and January are the best months for Siem Reap city tour, thanks to the pleasant climate.
Siem Reap Nightlife:
Siem Reap is known for its vibrant nightlife. While the mornings and days are gone traveling from temples to museums and galleries to more temples, the nights in Siem Reap come alive with a vivid exuberance of sorts. Getting to know some Siem Reap information before getting to the place is essential. The Pub Street is the place to be to enjoy the best of Siem Reap’s nightlife. The traditional neighborhood of pubs, bars, and nightclubs are lined with decked up locations one after the other. Angkor What?, The Picasso Bar, Mezze Loungebar and Nightclub, Linga Bar, Barcode, Silk Garden, Miss Wong – all of these are among the heavily frequented ones. The scope of nightlife is not constricted to bars only. The Angkor Night Market is an exciting place to be after sundown, with hundreds of bamboo huts giving the tourists the best indigenous retail therapy of life. Get a Siem Reap travel guide to know more about such places.
Siem Reap Food:
Cambodian cuisine is one of the most unique and unconventional ones one will ever come across. Being a south-east Asian country, it certainly has the flavors common to this area. But Siem Reap adds a flavor of its own, whether one tries out the roadside stalls, the motorcycle vendors or the top-end restaurants and bars. Amok Fish is the number one culinary treat here. It is fish cooked in coconut milk and delicious spices, made into a smooth curry and served in banana leaves or coconut bowls. Another delicacy is the green mango salad made with sweet and tart green mango tossed with herbs, spices, and sauces. Bamboo sticky rice and Nom Banh Chok noodles are two savories made from staples, while crispy-outside-soft-inside Khmer cakes and the energy-boosting thick jaggery soup are for those with a sweet tooth. Another out-of-the-world delicacy of Siem Reap is its fried insects, tarantulas and ants, which might not be for everyone’s palate. But, if one has a thing for trying out anything and everything, one must go for it.
Siem Reap Shopping:
Most of the shopping scene in Siem Reap is attributed to the indigenous crafts. The Angkor Night Market, Angkor Handicraft Association, Made in Cambodia, the old market Psar Chas – all of these are within a few kilometer radii in Siem Reap region, catering to the impulsive shopping of the tourists. From local trinkets and souvenirs to ornate art items, paintings and sculptures, small handicraft items, big home décor items, jewelry, scarves, and stoles – the list of things to hoard are endless. Shopping in Siem Reap is a vivid experience in itself.
Siem Reap Festivals:
Some festivals in Siem Reap correspond with the larger culture of the local ethnicities and their traditions like the Chinese and Khmer New Year, and there are some others which are unique to the place. Sea Festival devoted to the Sea Gods, Village Blessing Festival for the celebration of harvest, Water and Moon Festival, Kathen Buddhist Festival in the Cambodian pagodas are a few of the many. Siem Reap travel tips from guides can help the tourists know how to carry themselves during the festivals.

Trip to Siem ReapLVP Travel is extremely professional and were able to arrange a great tour for us in Cambodia. They were always available on WhatsApp and answered all my queries before I was able to make a decision to book. I will give them a 10/10 on their service. Here are a few things that I would like LVP to improve : 1. Cambodia itinerary: Please have a Cambodian travel guide chart out the itinerary. On day one we were told that the itinerary that was agreed upon will not be possible in one day and we had to truncate the number of places which we could visit. The second day was relatively free. I would have appreciated more insight into what we can visit within our limited time and if we are visiting the best places. 2. Your price is high. I booked two separate tickets with LVP and would have expected a discount on the price. Once I reached Siem Reap I realized that I may have paid too much for two days worth of travel. Nevertheless we had an amazing time in Siem Reap and without LVP we could not have imagined traveling to Cambodia. I shall definitely recommend LVP and Ms. Thuy to my friends and family for Cambodia. Regarding Travel Triangle - I will give them a 4/10 on our Cambodia Package. The representative Dimple Ranaut is extremely unprofessional and discourteous. Without LVP Travel's constant communication, I shall never have booked this tour with Travel Triangle. This representative called at odd times on whatsapp, threatened that the price will go up if I did not pay before a certain date, did not respond go to my queries. When I asked to speak to a senior agent at Travel Triangle, she put her colleague on the line, who was equally incompetent. I am baffled that a company would treat a customer who gave them a business of more that $2000 this way. A word of advice - other than matching customers to agents, travel triangle must also ensure the customer is getting a good value for their money. In my case, the agent refused to even talk about the price with the agent. During the same time I booked a Nepal tour with another agent of travel triangle and he did his best to negotiate with the agent and get me the best price.
Trip to KashmirTravel home is a fantastic organisation. They are impeccable and amazing to say the least. They delivered on their promises and our honeymoon trip was absolutely wonderful. We were in Srinagar from 18-22 July and every single day was memorable. We've reaped many memories for a lifetime. Their approach was proactive and the travel agent Bisma is amazing at her work. She was the reason that we were able to live every single moment in the manner that we did. She made sure that everything was as per our choice. Hotels and services provided by the hotel staff was also amazing. Eden resort and Victory Inn get a big thumps up. Our driver Firoz was great. He made sure that we were comfortable with everything and guided us in every possible manner which was very helpful. He helped us out in every regard and if I travel to Kashmir in the future, I would definitely have Firoz by my side. All of this was possible because of Travel home. Their owner Mr. Raees is also very helpful and co-operative. He is hell bent on providing his clients with best possible services when they travel to Kashmir. At last I would like to thank Bisma for her impeccable and commendable approach in making our honeymoon trip the best trip ever. If I travel Kashmir next time, I am looking no further than Bisma and Travel home. Mr. Firoz is also in the list.
Trip to Siem ReapSameer from Lotus Incoming was easily contactable when needed. He made all efforts to ensure I had a comfortable stay in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. He personally came to receive me at the Siem Reap airport. The hotels he arranged for were top class and the tour guide in Siem Reap (Smith Chau) and the driver (Mav) were excellent. The car qualify was excellent too. I had a very pleasant trip overall and would highly recommend them,
Trip to Siem Reapvery well arranged trip... cannot single out but the trio to siem reap was amazing
Trip to VietnamHad a good trip overall but had some issues: 1) Our flight booking done by Traveltriangle for BOM BKK sector, seats blocked were right infront of washroom and so was not total reclining and full of disturbances. For BKK BOM sector flight seats blocked all the way at the back thereby taking us time to board and deboard. If we had not blocked seats we may have for better seats. We had not asked for Hindu meals on flight but was served on all sectors baring BOM BKK sector as we had asked them to cancel. The flight from Hanoi to Siem Rep was late by more than 2 hours and we spend half day at airport. That flight ( Vietjet) has a reputation of being late and we repented being booked on it as whole day was wasted and we ended up reaching hotel by 11 pm. 2) Hotel experience was fairly good. At Hanoi the room allocated with triple bed was small and lacking proper seating arrangement. Overall staff very curious and breakfast okay although lacking variety for Veg and non pork beef eaters. Hotel at Siem Rep (Ankor Holiday Hotel) was not at all as expected. Although supposedly four star it lacked proper attitude of staff and general hygiene and cockroaches running all around room and washroom. On first day air conditioning not working on one room and staff refused to give us another room. Had to settle with a fan.in room instead. They were not accommodating at all. 3) Guides in both countries were knowledgeable and understanding. They took good care of us and our food. 4) We got email / call on last day regarding our insurance option for trip. If they had contacted us earlier we would not have to run around. We got all documents just before we left for airport which was very rushed. 5) Our advisor Karan took lot of time to sort out payment issues with overseas travel agent and we had to continuously follow up to make sure our trip would not get cancelled inspite of making payments on time. Our time in Hanoi which included the overnight Boat trip was definitely the best.moments. Siem Rep was a disappointment due to rushed up itenarary.

Trip to VietnamI was planning to visit Cambodia & Vietnam with family but there was hardly any agencies in North India who came forward to offer me package. Finally I could able to communicate with Tour Travel Triangle's Ms Megha, who offered me few agencies name of Cambodia Vietnam Tour conductor. I choose S. Viet Travel of Hanoi as they prepared itinerary as per our choice . Our tour 7N/8D , 2 nights Siem Reap Cambodia, 5 nights Hanoi Vietnam. I booked hotels of my own as at the last moment of March end tourist rush, could not provide hotels as per our choice. I highly appreciate the untiring efforts of Ms Rosie of S.Viet, who arranged and rearranged my tour itinerary and even at late nigh she listen to my problems and solved it Excellent tour arrangement by S. Viet with all promised facilities . I shall recommend my relatives and friends without any second thought to contact Ms Megha of Tour Travel Triangle (India) and those who are willing to explore hidden marvels of Cambodia and Vietnam must communicate Ms Rosie of S.
