Assam Family Package

Nestled cozily in the wavy foothills of the eastern Himalayas, this out-of-the-world region of the northeastern India includes the Seven Sister States and the spick-and-span state of Sikkim. The much talked about warmth and tourist-friendly culture of the north east make it one of the best tourist destinations for families.
Such is the allure of North East tourist places that not just the family tourists, but also the  adventurers, couples, groups of friends and solo travelers visit northeast India promises to satiate their wanderlust.

It won’t be an overstatement to state that a North East tour package is all that one needs to choose to explore the lesser explored, yet incomparably beautiful geography of this region.

Visiting north east has a lot to do with the timing of the visit. Although tourists keep flowing in from various parts to northeast India throughout the year, the best time to visit North East tourist places is during winters, i.e, from October to April. This is the time when the most number of tourists book Northeast India packages for family as the weather is cool, monsoons are over and nature is in its full bloom. In higher-altitude regions, temperatures can even go down to less than 12 degree Celsius.

North east is connected to the rest of the Indian subcontinent by road, rail, and air. The best way to travel to north east India depends on the kind of journey a tourist is looking for and the amount of time one wishes to spend while traveling. One can fly in to Bagdogra Airport in West Bengal which is the only major airport in the north east for tourists wishing to travel by air. A train journey to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station in Siliguri is generally considered as the safest and the cheapest option to reach north east. Major cities in the north east also have better road connectivity these days which suits tourists who want to enjoy a road trip to North East.

Recently I went to Arunachal Pradesh and Assam with my family through Unexplored trip. I booked the tour via Travel Triangle. And I must say that the service provided by the agency is remarkable. We did not face any issue with anything whether its is the Inner Line Permit, cab, hotels or safari booking everything went very smooth. Thank you Unexplored trip for making our trip memorable.

Aruna's 7 days trip to North East

We customized a tour in Assam-Meghalaya through Unexplored Trip for 7D6N. We had an enjoyable time in the wild, in the nature, in the rain that Cherrapunjee is so famous for and soaking in the rich culture of Assam. About Unexplored Trip: What was done well: 1. Closing on the quote - all travel agents do this well! 2. Customizing the trip to include Double Decker, which was a top priority for us 3. Gave us very thoughtful gifts on day 1. We appreciated this more than anything else because we got to enjoy the local culture by donning a part of their local clothing What could have been better: 1. Customer Service - Closing on a customer (booking the trip) is not the end of the relationship. The agency didn't make an effort to communicate progress (hotel booking, safari booking at Kaziranga etc) and even Travel Triangle was unreachable. I had to keep following up on multiple little things and when I couldn't reach any of them for a couple of days, I almost panicked that I was conned. There was no proactive reach-out to provide critical information needed for the travel. Second, there was no check point with us once the trip started. This is not a good thing. If you want the customer to be satisfied, have a couple of check points to see how they are settling down and if anything needs to be adjusted. 2. Be upfront about how much extra all the entry fees is going to come to - No guidance on what's really worth seeing and what's not and which places have entry fee (which is all of them!). Most of the falls were a waste of money because you see them from far away, especially the Seven Sisters. As tourists, we rely on locals to give us this information so we can utilize our money effectively. 3. Some of the 3 star hotels weren't maintained well. This is not a reflection on the travel agency but I think they should consider this when booking other customers 4. Last but not least, use discretion when a customer complains about the driver - It went fine the initial few days and then we had a conflict with the driver which I expressed to the travel agent I was talking to. I had expected some discretion but because the travel agent complained immediately to the vendor and the vendor called and yelled at the driver, we had to deal with crap for the next 2 days. So, if you are going to complain to the vendor immediately, make sure you change the driver instead of letting the customer deal with it. Also, why was this driver assigned to us if other customers had already complained about him?!

The highlight of Assam was cruising on the mighty Brahmaputra River and exploring the rich biodiversity of Kaziranga National Park, where I spotted majestic rhinos and vibrant birdlife. In Meghalaya, the serene landscapes of Shillong, the mesmerizing beauty of Dawki's crystal-clear waters, and the charm of Mawlynnong, Asia's cleanest village, left me in awe.

Shefeek's 7 days trip to North East

In April, I went on an 11-day trip with my family, visiting Kolkata, Assam, and Meghalaya. The first three days in Kolkata were organized by me, while the remaining seven days were part of a package I booked through Travel Triangle via UNEXPLORED. During the planning stage, I found it challenging to choose a package since Travel Triangle offered three different quotes, all of which had quite similar itineraries and minor price differences. Ultimately, I made a hasty decision to go with the cheaper option. On the day I made my final choice, .I was approached by SIZRA KHAN from UNEXPLORED TRIP, and she requested a few minutes of my time to explain the details of the trip. I listened to her and was impressed with the clarity of her explanation, but the price remained on the higher side. However, after some negotiation, she offered a small discount and promised exceptional service throughout the trip. She delivered on her promise, as her selection of hotels and resorts was simply exquisite and classy. I was completely satisfied with my stay, which far exceeded the accommodations I had booked for myself in Kolkata. The highlight of the trip was Mr. Abdul, our cab driver; he was incredibly patient and cooperative throughout the entire journey and had no complaints at all.I had a fantastic family vacation that included my two young children, aged 6 and 4. Once again, I extend my gratitude to Unexplored and SIZRA KHAN for assisting me in organizing the bills, even a month after our trip to suit my needs, making it a memorable experience. I will certainly recommend UNEXPLORED for northeast travel with a 5-star rating. Breathtaking meghalaya - chirapunji - fifi waterfalls

I had planned for a short and customised trip to Meghalaya & Guwahati. The trip was very well arranged by Mr. Illias the owner of NorthEast Window Travel. He was very prompt in receiving my calls & checking up regularly as I was a solo traveller. Hotels which were booked were good. Places visited were as per the itinerary as I have customised it. The best part of my trip was my visit to Maa Kamakhya temple which was well arranged before hand by Mr. Illias and secondly he personally took me to the best & authentic store to purchase Muga silk saree which is the pride of Assam. Thank you NorthEast Window Travel for making my trip a memorable one.

Mayur's 7 days trip to North East

We had a family trip to Assam and Meghalaya in April 2025, planned by Indeman Travel Solution. Sanjeev from Indeman helped us with a well-organized 7-day itinerary, including hotel stays and cab services. The resorts at Kaziranga (Dhanashri Resort) and Dawki (Peit Them Resort) were excellent, with beautiful gardens, clean and spacious rooms, and polite staff. Other hotels were okay but didn’t meet our expectations in terms of room size, cleanliness, and breakfast variety. The hotel in Shillong (Ramson Stay Inn) was new, but it had no lift, making it difficult for older people to access upper floors. The breakfast was very basic — just bread, butter, and a sandwich. It would be better if they added items like cornflakes and bread omelet. Overall, we were happy with the trip, the itinerary, and our cab driver, Mintoo Das, who was polite and helpful. Sanjeev was always reachable and helped with hotel room changes and safari bookings. However, the pre-travel and on-trip coordination could be improved, as no one checked in with us during the trip. While support was available when we called, a more proactive approach would have been better. In short, it was a memorable and well-planned trip that our whole family enjoyed.

We had a very good experience with Assam and Guwahati Trip arranged by Indeman travels. Their representative Mr Sanjeev was very helpful and considerate. The driver assigned to us was the best. Mr Pranab knew all the routes and he infact covered more points than which were mentioned in the itinerary on few places. Overall a very good experience. Recommend their service.
