How to Reach Mauritius
Being an island country, the best option about how to go to Mauritius is by taking a flight from India or boarding a holiday cruise. International flights to Mauritius land at the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, which is about 50 km from the capital city of Port Louis. Nonstop flight from India to Mauritius is available from Delhi Airport (DEL) to MRU Airport. The flight duration for direct airlines is about 7 hours and 30 minutes between India and Mauritius.
Air Mauritius, Air India, Emirates, flydubai, and Etihad are some of the major airlines running between Indian cities and Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (MRU) in Mauritius. The flight duration from Mumbai to MRU Airport is about 8 hours and 50 minutes by Air Seychelles flight.
There are only two airports in Mauritius, Sir Gaëtan Duval Airport situated in Plaine Corail on Rodrigues and Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport. Those wondering how to reach Mauritius from Delhi or Mumbai, then we are here to inform that SSR Airport is well connected via domestic and international flights. Emirates, Swiss, China Eastern flights, Air India, etc. are some of the major international airlines with connectivity to these airports.
To enjoy the road journey, one can reach the SSR Airport and take a bus to their desired destination. Buses available from the airport are 09, 10, and 198. Land transport here includes bus, taxi and cars. The bus network is large in the country, spread across the entire island. There are 2 kinds of buses in Mauritius: standard and express. Express buses are air conditioned buses and have fewer stops on each route. The buses run between 5:30 am and 8 pm. On the countryside, which is less developed, timings are shorter and less reliable. Travelers may have to change a bus in order to reach their destination.
Taxi is also easily available on the island but are more expensive. One can take any of the two buses. Fare of express bus is a bit higher as it is air conditioned and faster than the standard bus.
Besides boarding a flight or bus, one can also hop on a cruise to reach Mauritius. Board a cruise to Port Louis from the ports of Mumbai or Chennai, or choose to take a boat ride to Mauritius from Madagascar, and have a luxurious experience. However, the cruise journey from Mumbai and Chennai can take approximately 12 or 13 days to reach the destination.

Suchethapremkumar's 5 days trip to MauritiusI contacted Travel Triangle for my Dubai trip and Pragati from Holidays2Cherish contacted me with a quote which i liked. Pragati was very helpful in assisting me with all the information & provided it on a timely manner. Though sometimes her response was delayed but she helped me a lot in getting all the information i wanted. I changed my hotel & even made some changes to my itinerary one month before the travel. She was very flexible and gave me all the details i wanted. My trip to Dubai was completed without any troubles as the travel agent had given me all the required information before my travel. Overall had a very good experience with Travel Triangle.
Ratperx's 6 days trip to MauritiusThe choice of hotel was good, however some of the sight seeing itinerary were not up to the mark. A lot of better options were not covered while some of the locations/places that were visited might have been altered. Especially in the south tour.
