How to Reach Mauritius from India
Being an island country, the best option about how to go to Mauritius is by taking a flight from India or boarding a holiday cruise. International flights to Mauritius land at the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, which is about 50 km from the capital city of Port Louis. Nonstop flight from India to Mauritius is available from Delhi Airport (DEL) to MRU Airport. The flight duration for direct airlines is about 7 hours and 30 minutes between India and Mauritius.
Air Mauritius, Air India, Emirates, flydubai, and Etihad are some of the major airlines running between Indian cities and Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (MRU) in Mauritius. The flight duration from Mumbai to MRU Airport is about 8 hours and 50 minutes by Air Seychelles flight.
There are only two airports in Mauritius, Sir Gaëtan Duval Airport situated in Plaine Corail on Rodrigues and Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport. Those wondering how to reach Mauritius from Delhi or Mumbai, then we are here to inform that SSR Airport is well connected via domestic and international flights. Emirates, Swiss, China Eastern flights, Air India, etc. are some of the major international airlines with connectivity to these airports.
To enjoy the road journey, one can reach the SSR Airport and take a bus to their desired destination. Buses available from the airport are 09, 10, and 198. Land transport here includes bus, taxi and cars. The bus network is large in the country, spread across the entire island. There are 2 kinds of buses in Mauritius: standard and express. Express buses are air conditioned buses and have fewer stops on each route. The buses run between 5:30 am and 8 pm. On the countryside, which is less developed, timings are shorter and less reliable. Travelers may have to change a bus in order to reach their destination.
Taxi is also easily available on the island but are more expensive. One can take any of the two buses. Fare of express bus is a bit higher as it is air conditioned and faster than the standard bus.
Besides boarding a flight or bus, one can also hop on a cruise to reach Mauritius. Board a cruise to Port Louis from the ports of Mumbai or Chennai, or choose to take a boat ride to Mauritius from Madagascar, and have a luxurious experience. However, the cruise journey from Mumbai and Chennai can take approximately 12 or 13 days to reach the destination.

Trip to MauritiusOverall it was a good trip, we had a great time. My only complaint is with the cabs being overloaded making it an uncomfortable commute sometimes. Special mention to Rohit Saini from Travel Triangle for coordinating the trip and always being there whenever we had any concerns.
Trip to MauritiusTrip was very well organised. 1 complaint as per itinerary Seven colour island was part of sightseeing but when we reached there we were asked to pay for its conveyance. Apart from it 1 day there was no AC in cab rest all trip was good. We were delighted with the quality of Indian food served in hotel. The hotel staff was quite friendly and advised us on things that were suitable to out pockets. Underwater Sea walk was the best memories that we had.
Trip to MauritiusWe got blank CDs of photos and still chasing them for it.... Since 40% Indians visitors but still no Indian food in hotel
Trip to MauritiusNicely explained itenary, though one of the free day was adjusted as 1st day flight got cancelled. Facilities provided by hotel were good except in-room wifi was not there. Rest trip was really good. Parasailing and south tour was good.
Trip to MauritiusEverything was well arranged .. we enjoyed a lot .. best place for honeymoon . ..best scenery .. its too hot bt .. its better to forget it and just enjoy the place ♥️ Catamaran cruise was the best of all the activities we did over there
Trip to MauritiusHad a great trip. Enjoyed a lot. The travel itinerary was followed respecting time and the drivers/guides were courteous as well. We hired a scooter on rent for a day and roamed around Mauritius like a free bird exploring a lot many places which were not originally the part of package.
