Day 1: Arrive in Bali, Transfer to Kuta

This 10 nights 11 days Bali tour package begins with your arrival at Ngurah Rai Airport near Denpasar. Our local tour representative will greet you outside arrivals and drive you to your hotel in Kuta, about 20 minutes away when traffic is light. After check-in, wash away the flight fatigue. In the evening, walk down to Kuta Beach for the sunset, then explore the lanes and markets around Jalan Pantai Kuta at leisure. Dinner tonight is at your own choice, and Beachwalk Shopping Centre has plenty of options a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Overnight in Kuta.

Day 2: Kintamani and Ubud Village Tour

After breakfast, check out and set off on the full day Kintamani and Ubud tour, which ends at your hotel in Ubud. The first stop is Celuk village, where families have worked silver for generations and you can buy jewellery straight from the workshop. The road then climbs to the Kintamani ridge for the view across Mount Batur and the crater lake below it, best seen before the afternoon cloud rolls in. On the way back down, stop at a coffee plantation to taste Balinese coffee and the famous luwak brew, then walk the Tegallalang rice terraces. Day 3: White Water Rafting in Ubud

After breakfast, the rafting operator picks you up for the Ayung River, the longest river in Bali. Paddle down grade II and III rapids through a jungle gorge, past carved rock walls and hidden waterfalls, and stop to swim where the water slows. The run takes around two hours. Lunch at the finish is Balinese, usually nasi campur or nasi goreng, and the evening is yours. Overnight in Ubud.

Day 4: Ubud Local Sightseeing Tour

Today runs at your own pace. Most travellers start at the Ubud Monkey Forest, a temple forest home to more than a thousand long-tailed macaques, then walk 10 minutes up Monkey Forest Road to Ubud Palace and the Ubud Art Market across the street for sarongs, baskets and wood carvings. Then learn about Balinese art at the Blanco Renaissance Museum, the Agung Rai Museum of Art (ARMA) and the Setia Darma House of Masks and Puppets. Entry tickets for these sights are not included. If you want to climb Mount Batur for sunrise, this is the morning to do it. Pickup is around 2 am, the climb takes about two hours, and you are back in Ubud by late morning (paid option). Day 5: Explore Nusa Dua

After breakfast at the hotel in Ubud, check out and drive south to Nusa Dua, about 90 minutes away. Complete the hotel check-in formalities and unwind on the beach, where the reef keeps the water calm enough for an easy swim. In the evening, visit the Puja Mandala complex, where five houses of worship stand side by side: a mosque, a Catholic church, a Buddhist temple, a Protestant church and a Hindu temple. Day 6: Sightseeing and Watersports in Nusa Dua

After breakfast, it is a short drive to Tanjung Benoa for the watersports included in your package. You get a parasailing round and a jet ski ride, then take a glass bottom boat over the reef to Turtle Island to spot fish, coral and the turtles in the island sanctuary. Watersports run best before noon, when the sea is flattest. In the late afternoon, drive to Uluwatu Temple, which sits on a cliff 70 metres above the Indian Ocean and one of the six key Hindu temples in Bali. Stay for the Kecak dance in the open-air amphitheatre at sunset, where a circle of more than fifty men chants while dancers act out the Ramayana as the sky turns orange. Keep sunglasses and loose items in your bag, as the temple monkeys snatch them. The drive back to Nusa Dua takes 30 to 45 minutes. Overnight in Nusa Dua.

Day 7: Return to Kuta

Check out from the hotel after breakfast in Nusa Dua and drive back to Kuta, about 30 minutes. Check into your hotel and unwind for a couple of hours. Take the rest of the afternoon to explore the markets of Kuta and bargain for souvenirs at Kuta Art Market, where starting prices can usually be halved. In the evening, experience the nightlife of Bali at the clubs and beach bars along Jalan Legian, or head 20 to 30 minutes north to Seminyak for a beach club sunset. Day 8: Bedugul, Jatiluwih and Tanah Lot Tour

Today is a full day out, so start right after breakfast. Drive into the highlands to Bedugul to see Ulun Danu Beratan, the temple that appears to float on Lake Bratan, where the air is noticeably cooler. Continue to the vast stretches of the Jatiluwih Rice Terraces, a UNESCO-listed landscape still watered by the centuries-old subak canal system. In the late afternoon, enjoy a scenic drive to the Tanah Lot sea temple, one of the most famous landmarks in Bali, which stands on a rock just offshore and is best seen against the sunset. Day 9: Full Day Lembongan Island Cruise

Day 9 is a full day at sea. After breakfast you transfer to Benoa Harbour for the cruise to Lembongan Island. Enjoy the open views on the 90-minute crossing while snacking with hot drinks on board. At the island you can snorkel, ride the water slide, paddle a canoe and take a banana boat, then eat at the buffet before the boat heads back to Benoa and your transfer to Kuta. Day 10: Spa Day and Leisure in Kuta

Afterwards, buy gifts for your loved ones, try local food, or visit the interactive 3D art gallery at Dream Museum Zone. In the evening, head to the Kuta Theatre for a live cultural show. Day 11: Bid Farewell to Bali

Your 11-day Bali holiday ends today. Enjoy breakfast and check out from the hotel. Standard checkout is at noon, so if your flight leaves late you can store bags at reception and pick up last gifts at Krisna Oleh Oleh on Jalan Sunset Road, the shop locals use for coffee, snacks and souvenirs at fixed prices. You will then be transferred to Ngurah Rai Airport as per your departure schedule. Plan to reach the airport three hours before an international flight, as check-in queues at Denpasar get long in the evening.

Before You Go: Practical Notes for Indian Travellers

Indian passport holders can get a Visa on Arrival at Bali airport, or apply for the same visa online as an e-VOA on the Indonesian immigration site before flying. It costs IDR 500,000, is valid for 30 days and can be extended once. Your passport needs at least six months of validity. Full details are in our Bali visa guide for Indians.

Every foreign visitor also pays the Bali tourist levy of IDR 150,000. Pay it on the Love Bali website or app and keep the QR code on your phone, since it can be checked at the airport and at major sights.

Indonesia uses the rupiah, and Rs 1 buys roughly 185 to 195 rupiah. Card payments work in hotels and malls, but carry cash for markets, warungs and temple donations. Money changers in Kuta give better rates than the airport counters, so change only a little on arrival.

The plugs are the two round-pin type at 230 volts, so most Indian two-pin chargers fit without an adapter. The SIM card in your package covers data for maps and messages.

April to October is the dry season and the best time for an 11-day trip, with the clearest skies for Kintamani and calmer seas for the Lembongan crossing.
