Day-Wise Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive at Aut, transfer to Jibhi, Jibhi market and waterfall

Your overnight Volvo from Delhi reaches Aut in the early morning, where our driver meets you for the 30 km transfer to Jibhi through Banjar (about 1.5 hours). After check-in and a short rest, the afternoon stays easy. Walk through Jibhi's small market, where local rajma, apples and woollens are sold, then take the 15 minute trail to Jibhi Waterfall, a two-tier fall with a wooden bridge that is the valley's most photographed spot. If daylight allows, we head to Mini Thailand, a calm stretch of the Tirthan near Gushaini where the water pools between smooth boulders. Dinner and overnight in Jibhi.

Day 2: Jalori Pass, Serolsar Lake and the Raghupur Fort ridge

After breakfast you drive 12 km (about 40 minutes) up to Jalori Pass at 3,120 m, the trailhead for the day's walk. From the pass it is a gentle 5 km trek through oak and rhododendron forest to Serolsar Lake, a still green pool with the Budhi Nagin temple on its bank; tea and Maggi stalls run near the lake in season. Walkers with more energy can instead take the 3 km ridge trail to Raghupur Fort at 3,300 m, a ruined stone fort with a wide view over the Dhauladhar range that almost no other package includes. You are back in Jibhi by evening. Dinner and overnight in Jibhi.

Day 3: Great Himalayan National Park, Chhoie Waterfall and departure

Breakfast, then a short drive towards Gushaini and the entry gate of the Great Himalayan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the reason the Tirthan runs so clear. This is prime trout water, and Gushaini is where anglers come for catch-and-release fishing (permits arranged locally). On the way back we stop at Chhoie Waterfall, a 20 minute uphill walk near Ghiyagi that ends at a tall, thin cascade below a small Shiva shrine. You are then dropped at the Aut Volvo point for your overnight coach back to Delhi.

How to Reach Tirthan Valley and Jibhi

By road (included in this package)

Delhi to Aut is about 500 km and takes 12 to 14 hours; this package covers the leg on a return Volvo coach, so you arrive rested. Aut sits on the Chandigarh to Manali highway (NH-3), 19 km before Bhuntar. From Aut it is a 30 km cab ride to Jibhi via Banjar, roughly 1.5 hours, also included.

By air

The nearest airport is Bhuntar (Kullu-Manali), about 50 km from Jibhi and 2 to 3 hours by taxi. Bhuntar has a thin flight schedule, so many travellers instead fly into Chandigarh (about 270 km) or Delhi and drive up.

By train

There is no direct railhead. The usable broad-gauge stations are Ambala Cantt and Kiratpur (Anandpur Sahib); the narrow-gauge Joginder Nagar station is closest at 127 km. Most people pair a train to Chandigarh with a road transfer for the last stretch.

Best Time to Visit

March to June brings warm days, open trails and a fully clear Jalori Pass road, which is why it is peak season. The monsoon, July to mid-September, turns the valley deep green but raises landslide risk on the Aut road. September to November is the quiet sweet spot, with clear skies, autumn colour and comfortable trekking weather; October gives the sharpest views. From late November to April the Jalori Pass road is usually snowed shut, so Serolsar and Raghupur can be out of reach even while Jibhi itself stays open.
