Dharamshala Tour Package (3N/4D): Overview
This 3 nights 4 days Dharamshala tour package runs from Rs 15,000 per person and is built around a proper day-wise sightseeing itinerary, not just a hotel and a cab. Over four days you cover the town's own sights, the Tibetan quarter of McLeodganj, and a Palampur day trip through the tea gardens, with every hotel, breakfast, dinner and transfer included. Each day is fully customisable .
Dharamshala is a hillside town under the Dhauladhar range, wrapped in cedar and pine forest, and it works on two levels: the lower town around Kotwali Bazaar and the HPCA cricket stadium, and McLeodganj above it, the seat of the Tibetan government in exile and the home of the Dalai Lama. This itinerary gives you both, plus a third day out to Palampur for the tea country and the Chamunda Devi temple. The pace is unhurried, so you actually see the places rather than the inside of a car.
At Rs 15,000 per person on twin sharing, listed against Rs 16,667, this package sits a little above the bare operator rates you will find for the same route, and that is by design. The figure covers your stay, daily breakfast and dinner, all local sightseeing transfers and the airport or railway pickup and drop, so there is little left to pay on the ground beyond lunches and entry tickets. If you would rather scan the full range of durations and themes first, browse all our Dharamshala tour packages and pick the one that fits.

Day-Wise Dharamshala Sightseeing Itinerary
Here is the full day-by-day sightseeing plan, from the drive in on Day 1 to the departure on Day 4. Every stop below is part of the standard route, and the optional add-ons are things the team can build into your quote if you want them.
Day 1 // Arrival in Dharamshala and Local Sightseeing
You meet your driver at the pickup point and drive up to Dharamshala. From Delhi the road is about 474 km and takes close to 9 hours, so most travellers reach by afternoon or early evening. After checking in and resting, if there is daylight left you can start with the lower-town sights: the War Memorial in its pine garden, the shops of Kotwali Bazaar, and a first look at the Dhauladhar wall behind town. Cricket fans can ask to add the HPCA Cricket Stadium, one of the highest international grounds in the world, which sits right in Dharamshala. Dinner and an overnight stay are in Dharamshala.
Day 2 // McLeodganj Sightseeing, Bhagsu, Naddi and Dal Lake
After breakfast the day is given to McLeodganj and the Tibetan circuit above town. You start at the Tsuglagkhang complex, the Dalai Lama's main temple with Namgyal Monastery and the Tibet Museum, then walk to the Church of St. John in the Wilderness, an 1852 stone church set among old deodars. From there the route takes in Bhagsu Nag, with its temple and the waterfall a short walk beyond, the small hillside village of Naddi for its Dhauladhar sunset point, and Dal Lake, a quiet cedar-ringed pond that is nothing like its Kashmiri namesake but a pleasant stop. There is time for Mall Road and the Tibetan market before dinner and the night back in Dharamshala.
Day 3 // Palampur Day Trip, Tea Gardens and Chamunda Devi
Day 3 heads out to Palampur, the tea town of the Kangra valley, about 35 km from Dharamshala. The drive runs past open tea estates where you can stop to walk the rows and see how the leaf is picked and processed. On the way you visit the Chamunda Devi temple on the bank of the Baner river, one of the region's important shrines, and Gopalpur Zoo, a small high-altitude wildlife park that families with children enjoy. History-minded travellers can ask to add the Kangra Art Museum in Kangra town, which holds Kangra-school miniature paintings and valley artefacts, or the old Kangra Fort nearby. You return to Dharamshala for dinner and your last night.
Day 4 // Departure
After breakfast and your check-out, the driver takes you back down to Delhi, or to your onward point, in good time for your flight or train. If you have a later departure, the team can slot a short morning stop into the drive out, such as a final walk around McLeodganj or a tea-garden photo halt, before you leave the hills.
Two experiences that are not in the standard plan but slot in easily: the Triund trek, a roughly 9 km hike from Gallu above McLeodganj to a ridge with a full Dhauladhar view, which needs an extra day; and the Dharamshala Skyway, the cable car that climbs from lower Dharamshala up towards McLeodganj in a few minutes. Tell the team at the time of booking and either can be built into your itinerary.
