Why this Kullu Manali package works
Three nights and four days is the sweet spot for Kullu and Manali. It is long enough to reach the snow at Rohtang or Solang, spend an unhurried day in Old Manali and Naggar, and still shop the Mall Road, without the padding a five or six-day plan adds. The package keeps you based in Manali the whole time, so you unpack once and let the cab do the running between valleys.
You are looking at a single, fixed-price package here. If you want to compare durations or add Shimla, Kasol or Dharamshala, browse the full Kullu Manali tour packages listing or the wider Himachal tour packages collection.
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Manali and local sightseeing
Your cab meets you on arrival and drives you to the hotel on Kanyal Road for check-in and a welcome drink. Once you have settled, the afternoon is for Manali itself. Start at Hadimba Temple, the four-storey cedar-wood shrine set in a deodar forest, then walk across to the Manu Temple in Old Manali, the one dedicated to the sage Manu the town is named after. Fit in the Vashisht hot springs, Van Vihar by the Beas, Arjun Gufa and the Museum of Himachal Culture and Folk Art if time allows. End the day with shopping at the Mall Road and IBEX Market, and dinner back at the hotel.
Day 2: Rohtang Pass or Solang Valley snow day
After breakfast you drive about 51 km up to Rohtang Pass at 3,978 m for snow, skiing, horse riding and paragliding. Rohtang needs a permit (roughly Rs 550) and runs a daily vehicle cap of 1,200, and it stays shut through peak winter and on maintenance days. When it is closed or the permit is not available, the day runs to Solang Valley (about 14 km from Manali) instead, which has the same snow activities and a ropeway. In winter the cab can also take you through the Atal Tunnel, opened in 2020, to Sissu on the Lahaul side, the reliable snow point when Rohtang is under snow. Return to Manali for dinner and the overnight stay.
Day 3: Kullu and Naggar sightseeing
A full day down the valley to Kullu and Naggar. The centrepiece is Naggar Castle, the 15th-century stone-and-timber fort (built around 1460) that served as the old Kullu capital and now looks straight across at the snow line. Around it you visit the Gauri Shankar Temple, the Uruswati Himalayan Folk Art Museum in the Roerich estate, and the Jagatipatt and Tripura Sundari temples. There is time for a short trek or trout fishing on the Beas if you want it. Travellers who want a longer day can swap in Manikaran, the Sikh gurudwara and hot springs about 80 km on in the Parvati valley, just tell us at booking and we adjust the plan. Drive back to Manali for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Departure
Breakfast at the hotel, then check out and transfer to your onward point, the bus or Volvo stand or the airport, depending on how you are heading home. If you have a late departure, ask the desk about a short morning add-on such as Jogini Falls or a final Mall Road run before you leave.

Hotels and Meal Plan
You stay all three nights in one 3-star hotel in Manali, in the Kanyal Road area a short drive from the Mall Road, so there is no packing and moving mid-trip. The confirmed property is shared in writing with your quote. Rooms are on twin-sharing by default, with triple and family options on request. The plan includes breakfast daily and dinner on all three nights. Upgrades to a 4-star hotel or a premium view room can be added to the quote.
Best Time to Visit and Snow
Manali is a year-round base, but what you see depends on the month. For snow at Rohtang, Solang and Atal Tunnel, come between late October and February, when the passes hold fresh snow and the town runs cold. April to June is the pleasant, green window with open roads and the full run of adventure activities. July and August bring the monsoon, when Rohtang can close on short notice and the Atal Tunnel route to Sissu becomes the safer snow-and-scenery option.
One planning note on the pass: Rohtang needs a permit and a rotating rest day, so it is not open every day. When it is shut, Solang and the Atal Tunnel cover the same snow. For a full month-by-month breakdown, see the Himachal tourism guide.
Cancellation and Booking Policy
The package is fully customisable and you pay only after you approve the final itinerary. The exact cancellation window and any charges are confirmed in writing with your quote before you pay, so there are no surprises at the counter. Date changes and itinerary tweaks are handled by your trip coordinator. Ask about the current cancellation terms when you request your quote.
Booking with TravelTriangle
"On the Rohtang day, always start early and keep Solang as the backup. Rohtang can shut on a rest day or in bad weather, and the cars that leave Manali by 8 am are the ones that get the clear snow," says our Manali trip desk lead. That kind of ground detail is why the package is built around a private cab and a coordinator you can reach, not a fixed coach.
The commercial details on this page, hotel category, inclusions and the meal plan, are checked by our Himachal desk before the quote goes out. Every booking runs through a verified local agent, the itinerary is yours to change, and payment is released to the agent only after your vouchers are issued.

Himachal Travel FAQs
Is Rohtang Pass included in this 3N/4D Kullu Manali package?
Yes, Day 2 is a Rohtang Pass day trip by private cab. Rohtang needs a separate permit (about Rs 550) that is not part of the package price, and it stays closed on its weekly rest day, in peak winter and in bad weather. When it is shut, the same day runs to Solang Valley and, in winter, through the Atal Tunnel to the Sissu snow point instead, so you still get your snow.
Are adventure activities like skiing, paragliding and zorbing included?
No, activity fees at Rohtang and Solang (skiing, paragliding, horse riding, zorbing, ropeway) are paid directly on the spot and are not part of the package. We can pre-arrange the popular ones and add them to your quote if you want a fixed price before you travel.
What is the best time to do this Kullu Manali trip for snow?
For snow, travel between late October and February, when Rohtang, Solang and the Atal Tunnel route hold fresh snow. April to June is the milder, green season with open roads and full adventure activity. Avoid the July to August monsoon if snow and open passes are your priority, as Rohtang can close on short notice.
Can I customise the itinerary or add Manikaran or Kasol?
Yes, the whole package is customisable. You can add Manikaran (gurudwara and hot springs) or a Kasol and Parvati valley extension to the Kullu day, swap a sightseeing day, upgrade the hotel, or change the meal plan. Tell your coordinator at booking and the plan and price are adjusted before you pay.
How much road travel is there between Kullu and Manali each day?
Manali stays your base for all three nights. The Rohtang or Solang day is a short run of roughly 51 km each way up to the pass. The Kullu-Naggar day is longer, Naggar sits about 22 km from Manali and Kullu a little further, so plan for a fuller day on the road with sightseeing stops in between.
What kind of hotel and meal plan does the package include?
You stay three nights in one 3-star hotel in Manali (Kanyal Road area) on twin sharing, with the confirmed property named in your quote. The meal plan is breakfast daily plus dinner on all three nights at the hotel. Lunch is kept open so you can eat on the road. Hotel and meal upgrades are available on request.
Is 3 nights and 4 days enough to cover Kullu and Manali?
Yes, for Manali town, the Rohtang or Solang snow line and a Kullu-Naggar day, 3N/4D is comfortable. If you also want Manikaran, Kasol, or to add Shimla or Dharamshala, a 5N/6D plan suits better. This package is the focused Kullu-Manali version and can be extended if you want more.
How do I reach Manali for this package, and where does it start?
The itinerary is origin-agnostic, so it can start from any city. The nearest airport is Bhuntar (Kullu), about 50 km from Manali, and the common road route is the overnight drive or Volvo up from the plains. Tell us your start city at enquiry and we build the arrival and departure legs into your quote.
What is not included in the package price?
Air or train fare to Himachal, the Rohtang permit, adventure activity fees, lunch and snacks, room heater charges, early check-in or late check-out, and personal expenses such as tips and laundry sit outside the package. The inclusions and exclusions table above lists the full split.
What is the cancellation policy for this package?
You pay only after you approve the final itinerary, and the exact cancellation window and any charges are confirmed in writing with your quote before payment. Date and plan changes are handled by your trip coordinator. Ask for the current cancellation terms when you request your quote.
