Five nights is enough for this route if you accept moving hotels twice. Each move does some of the sightseeing for you, and the Jimbaran night puts you close to the sea cliffs before you head inland. You will not fit Nusa Penida or a Mount Batur sunrise trek without an extra night.

5 Nights 6 Days Bali Itinerary from Pune

Day 1: Arrive in Bali, Uluwatu Sunset and Kecak

Your driver meets you at arrivals at Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar and takes you to Bali Dynasty Resort on Jalan Kartika Plaza. If you fly overnight through Bengaluru you land at about 10:15 am, with time to shower and rest. Check-in starts at 2 pm, so ask for early access if you need the room sooner.

Leave at about 3:30 pm for Uluwatu Temple, the Hindu sea temple on a cliff above the Indian Ocean. The drive takes a little over an hour. Your entrance is covered, and the Kecak dance starts around 6 pm as the sun drops behind the performers. Keep sunglasses and phones tight, because the temple's monkeys grab them.

Overnight in Kuta.

Day 2: Taman Ayun, Ulun Danu Beratan and Tanah Lot

Leave after breakfast, at about 8 am, because this is a long road day. Your first stop is Taman Ayun at Mengwi, a royal temple ringed by a moat. You then climb to Bedugul, about 50 km and 2 hours from Kuta, for Ulun Danu Beratan. The temple sits on the edge of Lake Beratan at about 1,200 metres, honours the lake goddess Dewi Danu, and is noticeably cooler than the coast, so carry a light layer. You can take a boat out on the lake at your own cost.

Coming back down, you reach Tanah Lot in time for sunset. The temple stands on a rock in the sea, and high tide cuts it off from the shore, so walk down early. Expect to be back in Kuta at around 8 pm. Would you rather see a waterfall? Gitgit is about 30 minutes north of the lake, and your agent can swap it for Taman Ayun, though you will reach Tanah Lot later.

Day 3: Benoa Water Sports, Transfer to Jimbaran

Check out after breakfast by 11 am. Your driver takes you and your bags to Tanjung Benoa, where Bali's water sports operators work the calm strip beside Nusa Dua. Mornings are flattest. Parasailing, jet skis, banana boats and sea walking are the usual choices, and a beginner scuba dive off Nusa Dua can be added. These rides are not part of the package price, so tell your agent what you want and it is priced on your quote.

You reach AYANA Resort Bali in Jimbaran for the 3 pm check-in. With only one night here, the afternoon is the point of the stay. Take the pool, walk the grounds, and be at the resort's Rock Bar on the cliff before sunset. Queues build early, so book the 4 pm sunset session in the AYANA app.

Day 4: Jimbaran to Ubud via Celuk and Mas

Enjoy a slow breakfast, as check-out at AYANA is noon. Your transfer inland covers about 55 km in 2 to 2.5 hours before stops, and Ayung Resort sits a little beyond Ubud at Payangan. The road passes Celuk, known for silverwork, and Mas, known for woodcarving, so you stop at both on the way. Ask your driver to add Tegenungan Waterfall if you want a swim. The entry fee there is at your own cost.

The rest of the evening is yours. The resort has an outdoor pool, a restaurant and a bar, and Ubud town is about 30 minutes away by road. If you want to go in for dinner, ask your driver or the hotel desk to arrange a car, as extra vehicle use is not in the package.

Day 5: Kintamani and Ubud Sightseeing

Leave at about 8 am. You go north first to Kintamani, to reach the ridge before the cloud usually builds, and look across the caldera to Mount Batur and its lake. Coming back down, you stop at the Basanta agro plantation and the Tegallalang rice terraces. Lunch is at your own cost.

After lunch you reach Goa Gajah, the 9th-century Elephant Cave with a carved entrance and a dark inner chamber, by about 2 pm, ahead of its late-afternoon closing. A sarong is provided if you need one. You finish in Ubud at the Sacred Monkey Forest, which takes last entry at 5 pm, and Ubud Art Market for handbags, paintings and home décor. Six stops and about 3 to 4 hours in the car make this a full day, and you are back at the resort by about 6:30 pm. If you run late, ask your driver to shorten the plantation stop so you reach the Monkey Forest before 5 pm.

Day 6: Ubud to Ngurah Rai Airport, Fly Home to Pune

Have breakfast and check out. The transfer to Ngurah Rai International Airport takes 1.5 to 2 hours from Payangan, and more in afternoon traffic. If you are on IndiGo's morning flight to Bengaluru at about 11:15 am, leave the hotel by 7 am and ask for a packed breakfast the night before. That flight reaches Bengaluru by mid-afternoon, and an evening hop gets you home to Pune the same night.

Days 4 and 5: Ayung Resort Ubud, Payangan. Banjar Begawan, Desa Melinggih Kelod. A quiet resort north of Ubud town, with an outdoor pool, fitness facilities, a restaurant and a bar.

What This Package Costs Per Person from Pune

Rs 61,999 is the land price. From Pune, plan on about Rs 1.11 lakh to Rs 1.41 lakh per person once flights and daily costs are added. The flight is the biggest swing, so your travel month matters more than any other line here.

Fares in July and over Diwali and Christmas can run well above this band. Water sports, shopping and add-ons also sit on top. Rupee figures use about IDR 190 to the rupee, and your agent can add flights to the quote so you see one number.

Getting to Bali from Pune for This Trip

No airline flies non-stop from Pune (PNQ) to Denpasar (DPS), so you change planes at least once. The quickest way is an evening flight to Bengaluru, then IndiGo's overnight non-stop, which takes about 12 to 13 hours in all and lands at about 10:15 am. Book the first leg to reach Bengaluru by about 9:30 pm, because the next non-stop is a day later. Keep both legs on one ticket where you can, so a delay is the airline's problem to fix.

Other routes go through Mumbai, Delhi or Bangkok and take longer. IndiGo's Mumbai flight, which stops at Chennai until a planned non-stop starts on 1 January 2027, lands at about 5:50 pm, which pushes Uluwatu to Day 3. Bali runs 2 hours 30 minutes ahead of Pune. Vegetarian and Jain Food on This Trip

Your breakfast is covered at all three hotels, and Kuta and Ubud both have Indian restaurants for the other meals. Tell your agent at booking if you eat Jain food, so the hotels are told in advance. Jimbaran and Payangan have fewer options outside the resorts, so eat at the hotel on those evenings. Indonesian kitchens use shrimp paste in many sauces, so ask before you order.
