Is this trip right for you?
Here is who this Delhi Shimla Manali tour works best for:
• You want the three big Himachal names, Shimla, Kullu and Manali, ticked off in one 6-day window.
• You would rather have arrival, hotels, sightseeing and transfers pre-arranged than book each piece yourself.
• You are travelling with family or friends and want leisure time built in, not a rushed checklist.
• You want the freedom to change the itinerary. Every day here can be adjusted with your coordinator.
• You want a hassle-free first trip to the hills with a fixed price you can see up front.
The places you will actually visit
The sightseeing on this package is built around four anchors. Here is what each one is and why it is on the route.
Kufri
Kufri is a small hill settlement about 13 to 18 km from Shimla, sitting higher up at roughly 2,630 m, which is why the views back over Shimla are so wide. In winter it is one of the closest spots to Shimla for snow play and a bit of skiing. The rest of the year people come for the Himalayan Wildlife Zoo, Mahasu Peak, yak rides and tobogganing. Entry to Kufri itself is free and it stays open through the day.
Kullu Valley
The Kullu valley runs alongside the Beas river about 40 km short of Manali, and you pass through it on the drive up on Day 3. It is the adventure belt of the route: river rafting points, paragliding and trekking trailheads, plus roadside temples and the shawl factories the valley is known for. The deodar-clad slopes and the open river make it the prettiest stretch of the whole drive. Entry is free and the main viewpoints are open through the day.
Vaishno Devi Temple, Kullu
On the banks of the Beas near Kullu, this Vaishno Devi temple (also called Mahadevi Tirth) is a short, calm stop many travellers add on the drive. Entry is free and it is open around the clock. It is a quiet, low-key visit rather than a headline attraction, worth 20 minutes if the timing works on your Day 3 drive.
Solang Valley
Solang, about 14 km beyond Manali, is where Day 5 goes. In winter it is snow, skiing and snowmobiling; in summer it turns into a paragliding, zorbing and ropeway hub. The gondola ride gives you the valley from above. Adventure activities here are paid on the ground and are optional, so you choose how much you do. Entry to the valley is free and it is busiest late morning to evening.
Trip highlights
• Shopping and evening walks on Shimla's Mall Road and Lakkar Bazaar.
• Himalayan Wildlife Zoo and the hilltop Jakhu Temple above Shimla.
• Hanogi Mata Temple and a Kullu shawl factory stop on the drive to Manali.
• Hadimba Devi Temple, Vashisht hot springs and the Tibetan Monastery in Manali.
• A full day of snow or adventure activities in Solang Valley.
Day-wise 6-day itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Shimla
Our representative meets you on arrival in Shimla and takes you to your hotel. Once you have checked in and had a short rest, head out for a first look at the town: The Mall Road, Lakkar Bazaar and the Indian Institute of Advanced Study among them. Return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. (Arrival, transfers and stay included.)
Day 2: Kufri sightseeing
After breakfast you drive up to Kufri, about 13 km from Shimla at 2,630 m, with snow-capped ranges filling the view on a clear morning. You visit the Himalayan Wildlife Zoo, home to rare antelopes, felines and birds including the Himalayan monal, then head back toward Shimla to see Jakhu Temple and a few local spots. Evening is free before dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel. (Sightseeing, breakfast and stay included.)
Day 3: Shimla to Manali
After breakfast, check out and begin the road journey to Manali, roughly 248 km and about 8 hours with stops. Along the way you break at Kullu Valley, Pandoh Dam, Sundar Nagar Lake, Hanogi Mata Temple, the Kullu Vaishno Devi Temple, the Kullu river-rafting point and the shawl factories. On arrival in Manali you check in, settle in and have dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel. (Sightseeing, breakfast and stay included.)
Day 4: Manali sightseeing
After breakfast, a full day around Manali: Hadimba Devi Temple, Vashisht village with its temple and hot water springs, Van Vihar, the Mall Road and the Tibetan Monastery. The evening is yours for shopping in the Manali markets before returning to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. (Sightseeing, breakfast and stay included.)
Day 5: Full day in Solang Valley
After breakfast, spend the day in Solang Valley, the adventure hub about 14 km from Manali. Depending on the season you can ski, ride the ropeway, try paragliding, zorbing, horse riding or a yak ride, all paid on the ground and optional. If you want to go higher, Rohtang Pass sits beyond Solang and is subject to a permit and seasonal opening (usually May to November, weather permitting). The Atal Tunnel, the world's longest highway tunnel above 10,000 ft, opened here in October 2020 and gives all-weather access through to Sissu and the Lahaul valley if you add that leg. Return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. (Sightseeing, breakfast and stay included.)
Day 6: Departure
After breakfast, check out and transfer to your onward point in Shimla, the airport, railway station or Volvo stand, from where you continue home. (Breakfast and departure transfer included.)
What the price includes and what moves it
The land package starts at Rs 10,998 per person on twin sharing, which covers your 4-star stays, daily breakfast and dinner, all sightseeing and private transfers, and taxes. Flights to and from Delhi are not part of this price. What you actually pay per head moves with a few honest levers, and none of them are hidden add-ons.
| What drives the price | Effect on cost per person |
|---|---|
| Season | Lowest in the March to June shoulder and monsoon dips; highest around the Oct and Dec snow peaks and long weekends. |
| Group size | Larger groups share the transport cost, so per-head cost usually drops as the group grows; twin-sharing is the base rate. |
| Hotel tier | The Rs 10,998 floor is 4-star. Moving up to premium properties or peak-view rooms raises it. |
| Room configuration | Triple-share and child-with-existing-bed rates run lower per head than twin sharing. |
| Add-ons | Solang and Rohtang adventure activities, Atal Tunnel / Lahaul day and any flight add-on are paid on top. |
Want an exact figure for your dates and group? Every package here is quoted before you pay, so you see the final per-person price up front with no surprises at the counter.

How you travel from Delhi, and the best time to go
Most travellers on this route reach Shimla from Delhi by road. You can take an overnight Volvo AC coach or a private AC cab; the Delhi to Shimla drive is roughly 350 km and 7 to 8 hours, and the onward Shimla to Manali leg is about 248 km and 8 hours, both handled on this package by private transfer. If you would rather come by train, the option is a train to Kalka followed by the toy train or a road transfer up to Shimla; Kullu and Manali are reached by road from there. Flights are not part of the land price; the nearest airport to Manali is Bhuntar (Kullu), about 50 km out.
On timing: March to June is the summer sweet spot, green valleys, clear days and pleasant hill weather, and it is the busiest booking window. October brings crisp air and thinner crowds. If snow is the whole point, aim for December to February, when Kufri and Solang are white and Rohtang access depends on the road being open. Monsoon (July to early September) is the cheapest but comes with landslide-related road delays on the Manali leg, so build in buffer time.
Cancellation and refund policy
This package is customisable and comes with a clear cancellation and reschedule window, something most operators on this route do not spell out. As a guide, cancellations made well before departure carry the lowest charge, and the deducted amount rises as you get closer to the travel date, with peak-season and non-refundable hotel or transport bookings treated separately. You can also reschedule to new dates subject to availability and any fare difference. Your coordinator confirms the exact slab, timelines and refund method in writing before you pay, so you know the terms up front.
Why book this Delhi Shimla Manali tour with TravelTriangle
Every package here is delivered through a network of verified local Himachal agents, not an anonymous call centre, so the people arranging your Kufri drive and Solang day actually work the region. You get a fully customisable itinerary, transparent per-person pricing quoted before you pay, verified reviews from real travellers who booked the same route, and 24/7 support while you are on the trip. Any change you want, a room upgrade, an extra Lahaul day through the Atal Tunnel, a different hotel tier, goes through one coordinator rather than a dozen phone numbers.
