Thailand Tour Package: At A Glance
This is a fixed 5 nights 6 days trip that pairs the two sides of Thailand most first-time visitors want in one go. Three unhurried nights on Koh Samui, then two nights in Bangkok. You start on the island, where the days are built around water and slow travel: a full boat day out to Ang Thong Marine Park, a snorkelling cruise past Hin Ta and Hin Yai (the Grandfather and Grandmother rocks off Lamai), and a village day with an elephant ride and an ox-cart run through the rubber plantations. Then a short flight north to Bangkok for temples, a Chao Phraya dinner cruise, and a city tour that takes in the Golden Buddha and the Grand Palace before you fly home.
Is 5 nights and 6 days enough for both? For a first trip, yes. Three nights is the right amount of Koh Samui to see the island, do one big day trip and still keep a free evening; two nights in Bangkok covers the headline temples and one night out without feeling rushed. If you want to add Phuket or the islands around Krabi you would need a longer Thailand package. This one is kept deliberately to the Bangkok and Koh Samui route, and every hotel, flight and transfer below can be changed to suit your dates.

Bangkok & Koh Samui 5N/6D itinerary, day by day
Day 1: Koh Samui welcomes you
Your TravelTriangle representative meets you at Koh Samui airport (USM) and drives you the 18 km, about 30 minutes, to your hotel on Lamai Beach for check-in and lunch. The rest of the day is yours. Most travellers spend the first evening easing into island pace with a walk along Lamai, or the short drive up to Bophut for Fisherman's Village, an old teak-shophouse lane that fills with food stalls and bars after dark. If you would rather have a proper night out, the Starz Cabaret show and Ark Bar on Chaweng are both close by. Dinner and overnight on Koh Samui.
Day 2: snorkelling tour and island cruise
After breakfast you head out on a full-day island cruise and snorkelling trip. The boat works its way around Tong Sai, Choeng Mon, Chaweng and Chaweng Noi, Thong Takhian and Lamai, passing Hin Ta and Hin Yai, the two rock formations off Lamai that everyone stops to photograph. The snorkelling highlight is Koh Tan, often called Greenpeace Island, with clear water and easy swimming. Lunch is a traditional Thai spread at a local eatery. You are back at the hotel by evening for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: village tour and elephant ride
The morning is a wildlife safari and village tour that shows the working side of the island: a 30-minute elephant ride through the jungle, an ox-cart run through a quiet village, a rubber-tapping demonstration and a traditional lunch cooked in the village. On the drive you can take in Koh Samui's signature landmarks. The 12-metre gold Big Buddha (Wat Phra Yai) sits on its own islet at the north-east tip, with the ornate Wat Plai Laem next door, and Wat Khunaram, home of the island's mummified monk, is on the ring road if you want one more temple stop. Back at the hotel by late afternoon for dinner and your last night on Koh Samui.
Day 4: moving to Bangkok
After breakfast you check out and transfer to Koh Samui airport for the flight to Bangkok, about an hour in the air. Check in to your Sukhumvit hotel, then the evening is free for shopping or a spa. The set piece is dinner on a Chao Phraya river cruise, gliding past Wat Arun and the Grand Palace lit up from the water. Overnight in Bangkok. Transfers on this day: Koh Samui hotel to airport 18 km (30 minutes), Bangkok airport to city about 32 km (an hour with traffic).
Day 5: Bangkok city tour
A full day in the capital. The temple run covers Wat Traimit, the Temple of the Golden Buddha, in the heart of Chinatown (Yaowarat), and Wat Pho, home of the giant Reclining Buddha. The city tour then takes in the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, the City Pillar Shrine, the National Museum, the Golden Mount, and the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall by Parliament. Your SEA LIFE Bangkok and Madame Tussauds passes are included if you would rather swap a temple for the aquarium and the wax museum. Dinner and overnight in Bangkok.
Day 6: departure from Bangkok
Breakfast at the hotel, then a transfer to the airport, about 32 km and an hour with traffic, for your flight home. If your flight leaves late, keep a couple of hours free for last-minute shopping around Sukhumvit or Chatuchak Weekend Market before you go.
Getting from Bangkok to Koh Samui
The two are linked by a short domestic flight. Koh Samui has its own airport (USM), and the hop to or from Bangkok, whether Suvarnabhumi (BKK) or Don Mueang (DMK), takes roughly an hour and ten minutes in the air. This package uses that flight on Day 4, so you never lose a day to transit. If you are extending the trip on your own, the budget alternative is a coach-and-ferry combination: a bus from Bangkok down to the Donsak pier near Surat Thani, then a Raja or Seatran ferry across to the island, about 12 to 14 hours door to door. For a fixed 5N/6D trip the flight is the sensible choice, and it is already built into your itinerary. Our Thailand desk plans this route flying into Koh Samui and out of Bangkok, with the island-to-city flight kept to the morning of Day 4, so a delayed boat or flight never costs you a night in Bangkok.
