Bengaluru has a non-stop flight to Bali, and this itinerary is built on it. IndiGo 6E 1605 leaves Kempegowda International Airport at 00:55 every night and lands at Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar at 10:15 Bali time, a flight of 6 hours 50 minutes. Note the date. A 00:55 departure on a Friday means you leave home on Thursday night, so book the ticket for the day after your last working day. Bali runs 2 hours 30 minutes ahead of India. Coming home, 6E 1606 leaves Denpasar at 11:15 and lands in Bengaluru at about 15:15, so you are home by evening. 6 Days Bali Itinerary from Bangalore

Day 1: Land in Bali, Uluwatu Temple and the Kecak Dance

Your flight lands at 10:15. A local representative meets you outside arrivals and drives you 20 to 30 minutes to the Ramada Bali Sunset Road in Kuta, where you can freshen up and sleep off the night flight. Around 4 pm you head south to Uluwatu, a sea temple set on a 70-metre cliff above the Indian Ocean in Pecatu. Sarongs are handed out at the gate, and the resident monkeys go for sunglasses, so keep them in a bag. The Kecak dance starts around sunset in the amphitheatre beside the temple. There are no instruments. A circle of men chants "cak" for the full hour while dancers act out the episode of the Ramayana in which Sita is taken by Ravana. Seats fill quickly, so get there by 5:15 pm. Drive back to Kuta for the night.

Day 2: Gitgit Waterfall, Bedugul, Taman Ayun and Tanah Lot at Sunset

This is the long day of the trip, about 13 hours with a 7 am start and close to 7 hours on the road. After an early breakfast you drive roughly 2 hours 30 minutes north to Gitgit waterfall, 11 km from Singaraja town, and walk the short jungle path down to the falls. On the way back you stop at Bedugul for Ulun Danu Beratan, the temple whose shrines seem to float on Lake Beratan, and lunch by the lake. In the afternoon you visit Taman Ayun, the royal temple of Mengwi with its moat and tiered roofs. The day ends on the coast at Tanah Lot, the rock temple that the tide cuts off from the shore, as the sun sets. Back in Kuta by about 8 pm.

Families who land on the overnight flight often ask to drop Gitgit and start Day 2 at 9 am instead. You still get Ulun Danu, Taman Ayun and the Tanah Lot sunset, and you are back in Kuta by 7 pm.

Day 3: Tanjung Benoa Water Sports and a Night on Jimbaran Bay

Check out after breakfast and drive about 30 minutes to Tanjung Benoa, the calm, reef-sheltered beach north of Nusa Dua where Bali's water-sports centres line up. Your package includes one round of parasailing with an instructor and a 60-minute snorkelling and fish-feeding session over the reef off Nusa Dua. Jet skis, banana boats and sea walks are sold at the counter if you want more. In the afternoon you transfer to Jimbaran Bay Resort & Spa, near the Kedonganan end of Jimbaran Bay. This is where the seafood grills set their tables on the sand at sunset. Dinner is not included, so pick your fish at a beach grill and pay direct.

Day 4: Celuk and Mas Villages, then Ubud

After breakfast you leave the coast for the hills, about 1 hour 30 minutes with stops. On the way you stop at Celuk, the village of silversmiths, where workshops let you watch filigree being made, and at Mas, known for woodcarving. You reach the Abirama Ubud Villa in Kendran, a quiet village north of central Ubud, in time for a late lunch. The rest of the day is free. Most travellers spend it at the pool or book a dinner at the villa, which is paid direct.

Day 5: Kintamani Tour with Tegallalang and the Monkey Forest

This is a full day, about 9 hours with an 8 am start and around 3 hours of driving. Start early to beat the crowds at the Tegallalang rice terraces, then stop at the Basanta agro plantation to taste Bali coffee, teas and spices. Kintamani is next, a ridge about 1,500 metres up with a wide view of Mount Batur and Lake Batur, which is where most tour groups eat lunch. On the way back you visit Goa Gajah, the Elephant Cave carved about a thousand years ago, and the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary in Ubud, then finish at the Ubud Art Market if there is time before it closes at 6 pm. Back at the villa in the evening, a one-hour Balinese massage is booked for you.

Day 6: Fly Home to Bangalore

Leave Ubud at about 7:30 am after an early breakfast. The drive to the airport takes around 1 hour 30 minutes and can run longer in morning traffic, which leaves you time to check in for IndiGo 6E 1606 at 11:15. You land in Bengaluru at about 15:15, with an evening at home before work.

Uluwatu Temple. One of Bali's six holiest temples, the Sad Kahyangan, dedicated to Rudra, a form of Shiva. It sits on a 70-metre cliff in Pecatu, in the South Kuta district of Badung, about an hour from your Kuta hotel. When the sun drops into the sea behind the temple walls, the whole cliff turns orange. Dress modestly; the sarong comes with the ticket.

Ulun Danu Beratan. A water temple in Bedugul, built in 1633 on the edge of Lake Beratan, about 1,200 metres up. The air is cool enough for a light jacket.

Tanah Lot. A temple on a rock in the sea. You can walk across to its base only at low tide. Come for the last hour of light and stay for the sunset over the water.

Ubud Art Market. Rows of stalls selling handwoven bags, batik, silver and wooden carvings. Start at a third of the asking price and bargain from there.

Tegallalang Rice Field. Terraced paddies watered by subak, the cooperative irrigation system Balinese farmers have shared for centuries. Go before 9 am for the light and the empty paths.

Ubud Monkey Forest. A sacred forest and temple complex in the middle of Ubud, home to more than a thousand long-tailed macaques. Leave food, plastic bags and dangling jewellery in the car.

Bali Trip Cost from Bangalore, With and Without Flights

The land package costs Rs 50,000 per person, or Rs 1,00,000 for two on twin sharing. Add the IndiGo non-stop from Bangalore, the arrival fees, meals and tickets, and a 6-day Bali trip from Bangalore comes to about Rs 1,03,000 to Rs 1,25,500 per person.

Fares from Bangalore climb in the Dasara and Diwali weeks, from mid-December to early January and in April and May when Karnataka schools close. Book 6 to 8 weeks ahead for those dates. Bali's airport shuts for 24 hours on Nyepi, the Balinese day of silence, which falls on Monday 8 March 2027, so avoid flying between 7 and 9 March.

Visa and Documents for Indians

Indian passport holders get a Visa on Arrival in Bali. It costs IDR 500,000 (about Rs 2,600), is valid for 30 days and can be extended once for another 30. Apply for the e-VoA online before you fly to skip the counter queue at Ngurah Rai. Your passport needs at least 6 months of validity from the day you land. Bali also charges a one-time tourist levy of IDR 150,000 (about Rs 800) per person, paid online, and every traveller fills in the All Indonesia arrival card online within 72 hours before landing.
