Places you cover on this Kasol trip

The trip stays inside the Parvati Valley, so the driving between stops is short and the days are unhurried. Here is what each place gives you.

    • Parvati Valley is the umbrella for the whole trip, a green river valley off the Kullu-Manali road that most people come to for its slow pace and riverside cafes.

    • Kasol is the base, a small market town on the Parvati river where you stay two nights and sort out cafes, shopping and day walks.

    • Chalal is the easy add-on most first-timers miss, a flat 30 to 40 minute walk along the river from Kasol to a quieter hamlet of cafes and camps. No trek gear needed.

    • Kheerganga is the highlight, an overnight trek to a natural hot spring at about 3,000 m with a camp stay at the top. The climb takes 5 to 6 hours and passes Rudranag roughly halfway.

    • Tosh sits high above the valley near the Pin Parvati route, a village of guesthouses and long views where you spend a night after the trek.

    • Manikaran is the last stop on the way out, known for its Gurudwara and natural hot springs where pilgrims cook rice in the boiling water.

    • Malana (optional) the ancient hillside village famous for its old customs, can be added as a half-day trip from Kasol if you want it. Say so when you book and we will fit it in.

    How you travel from Delhi

Kasol is about 520 km from Delhi. The package runs the whole thing by overnight Volvo, which is why the mountain leg only eats into one day instead of two.

    LegModeTime
Delhi to Bhuntar / KulluOvernight AC Volvo (seat-in-coach)about 12 to 14 hours
Bhuntar to KasolCab, via Jari along the Parvati Valleyabout 1.5 hours

Departures leave from the Delhi Volvo stands at Majnu-ka-Tilla and Kashmere Gate ISBT in the evening and reach Bhuntar the next morning, where your cab is waiting. If you would rather break the journey or start from Chandigarh, we can build that in. For the full city-by-city breakdown of trains, buses and drive times, see our guide to reaching Kasol from Delhi.

"Take the overnight Volvo that reaches Bhuntar by early morning so you can start the Kheerganga trek the same day you arrive, instead of losing a day settling in," says our Himachal travel desk. The drive times, boarding points and cab rates on this page are checked against live schedules before we quote.

    Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Overnight Volvo from Delhi

Your trip starts in the evening from the Delhi Volvo stand. You board the overnight AC Volvo toward Kullu and settle in for the drive north through Chandigarh, Bilaspur and Mandi. Meals and rest stops are on the way. This is a travel night, so pack a light jacket and keep your ID and booking handy for the boarding check. You reach the Bhuntar area early the next morning. Overnight on the bus.

Day 2: Arrive Bhuntar, transfer to Kasol

Your cab meets you at Bhuntar and drives you up the Parvati Valley to Kasol via Jari, about an hour and a half. Check in and take the morning easy. In the afternoon walk the Kasol market for essentials and browse the riverside cafes, or take the flat 30 to 40 minute walk along the Parvati to Chalal for a quieter spot. Spend the evening by the river before returning to the hotel. Breakfast is included; overnight in Kasol.

Day 3: Kheerganga trek and camp

After breakfast you set off on the Kheerganga trek, the highlight of the trip. It is a 5 to 6 hour climb that passes Rudranag roughly halfway, following the river up through pine and waterfall stretches to the natural hot spring near the top at about 3,000 m. Soak in the spring, catch the sunset over the ridgeline, and stay the night in the camp at the top. Breakfast and a camp dinner are included; overnight in a Kheerganga camp.

    Day 4: Kheerganga to Tosh

Wake to the mountain light, have breakfast, and trek back down to the road. From there you transfer via Bharni to Tosh, a village set high above the valley near the Pin Parvati route. Drop your bags at the guesthouse and spend the afternoon on its cafe terraces watching the light change over the far peaks, or take a short walk around the village lanes. Breakfast and dinner are included; overnight in Tosh.

Day 5: Manikaran and return Volvo to Delhi

On the way out you stop at Manikaran, known for its Gurudwara and boiling natural hot springs where langar rice is cooked in the water. Cover your head and remove footwear at the Gurudwara, as with any place of worship. From Manikaran your cab drops you at Bhuntar for the evening Volvo, which reaches Delhi the following morning. Breakfast is included; the tour ends on arrival in Delhi.

    • Tosh: Parvati Cafe Guest House or similar, in Tosh village with valley views (1 night).

Prefer a hotel upgrade, a family room or a specific property? Tell us at booking and we will re-quote.

    Cancellation and refund policy

Every booking comes with a clear, written cancellation policy that you receive with your confirmation voucher. As a guide, the earlier you cancel, the more you recover, because hotels, the Kheerganga camp and the Volvo operator are booked and paid in advance.

    When you cancelTypical refund
More than 30 days before departureFull refund less a small processing fee
15 to 30 days before departurePartial refund (around 50 percent)
Less than 15 days, or no-showNon-refundable

Because this is a fixed 5D/4N Volvo package with a camp leg, the exact windows can shift with your travel month and are confirmed in writing before you pay. If bad weather or a road closure forces a change, we work with you to reschedule rather than cancel.

    Why book this Kasol-from-Delhi package

You will find Kasol trips advertised from as little as Rs 6,999. This one sits higher, at Rs 23,040 per person, and it is honest to say why: it is a fuller 5-day, 4-night product, not a two-night dash. The price covers the overnight Volvo both ways, four nights of stays including a Kheerganga camp, breakfast and dinner, all your intercity cabs, and a guided trek to the hot springs. Budget trips usually strip out the trek, the camp night, or the return transfer, so you end up paying for them anyway.

Every itinerary is customisable, the local agents who run the trip are verified, and you have 24/7 support on the ground. Add Malana, swap the camp for a hotel night, or shift your dates, and we will re-quote the same day.

Hotel provided at shimla is barowalia resort, which is a pathetic hotel. initially was promised to give Pahuna resort, but later changed. Itenary provided in the list cannot be completed due to not so super planning, only 60% places can be covered.. Driver is a good person and he is a good gentle
man. after so much of complaints got a better hotel in Manali Varsha Inn a very good hotel thanks to Mrs. Sharma, but the itenary in manali should be planned for 2 days, 1 day is not sufficient, this has to be told to the customer, if customer is having budget problems cover only important places. Because of this creating unnecessary rift between customer and driver, luckily not happened in my case. Neelam is very helpful in co-ordinating things, but as an agency lot to improve.

I had booked Shimla - Manaali six days tour with North India Tours & Travels. From the starting there were trouble with agency. I was asked to contact Mr. Neeraj Negi for driver details. I had followed him four times over phone but he didn't provide the proper details. I got three drivers number an
d had to call all of them to know who will pick me up from Chandigarh. Once driver was fixed, he asked me to leave from Chandigarh early (though I didn't want it) in the morning because he was in Chandigarh that evening and he wanted to return early. when I called Neeraj Negi to know if Hotel room will be available if I reach early, he was blunt and said will you check out early if you are checking in early. Taxi and hotel coordination was his job but I was doing it and he was playing boss role. while travelling to Shimla, taxi driver (Prakash) informed me that he is not from North India tour travel. Taxi driver on day one left without informing. raised the issue on Travel triangle whatsapp group but no help was offer either by travel triangle or Neeraj Negi. During the travel, I had four different drivers (Prakash, Sanjay, Ajay, Raju) and on each day I had to coordinate with these drivers. No professionalism at all. Although, I was informed that I will have single driver through out the tour. while returning from Manaali around 1 PM during the day we were passing through planes (Sundar Nagar, Bilaspur etc) and temperature was 37 deg C and dust outside. requested driver to switch on the AC but he hadn't. this is despite the fact that we were descending from hills or travelling in plane areas. This driver (Ajay) had to pick client from Chandigarh therefore he had asked us to start early from Manaali, which I agreed to. I had to skip the breakfast because of him but when we requested him to switch on the AC, he straight forward denied it. No support from North India tour travel . Only good thing in this trip was hotel in Manaali (Himalayan heights), which is newly built and well maintained. view from this hotel is quite good and it has apple orchard within it's boundary.
