Getting to Manali from Hyderabad

Manali has no airport, so the route runs through Delhi or Chandigarh. There are two ways couples usually do it, and the package is set up for the faster one.

By flight plus cab (this package): a direct flight from Hyderabad (RGIA) to Delhi runs about 2 hours 15 minutes. To Chandigarh it is around 2 hours 30 minutes. From either airport a private cab covers the hill road to Manali, roughly 12 to 14 hours from Delhi or 8 to 9 hours from Chandigarh. Chandigarh is the shorter drive and the one to ask for if you would rather spend less time on the road.

By flight plus overnight coach: some couples fly into Delhi and take an overnight Volvo from ISBT Kashmere Gate to Manali (about 12 to 14 hours). It is cheaper than a private cab but you lose a night of proper sleep at the start of a honeymoon, so most people on this package take the cab.

Confirm your exact flight timings before you lock the transfer, since a late Hyderabad departure can push the mountain drive into the night.

Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Fly from Hyderabad, drive up to Manali

Take a morning flight from Hyderabad to Delhi or Chandigarh, where our representative meets you and starts the drive to Manali by private cab. The road follows the Beas through Mandi, and there is time to stop at Pandoh Dam and the roadside Vaishno Devi shrine near Sundernagar to stretch your legs and grab chai. You reach the Manali hotel by evening, finish check-in, and settle into a room set up with honeymoon flower-bed decor. Rest up, the mountain air does the rest.

Day 2: Manali local sightseeing

After breakfast you head out for a half-day tour of Manali proper. It covers the wooden Hadimba Devi Temple in its cedar grove, Van Vihar by the river, the old stone village and temple at Vashisht with its natural hot-water springs, the Tibetan Monastery, and the shops along Mall Road and Manali Market. The pace is easy, which suits a honeymoon, and the evening is free for an Old Manali cafe dinner before you head back for the night.

Day 3: Full-day trip to Solang Valley or Rohtang Pass

A full-day excursion to the snow line, either Solang Valley or, when the pass is open, Rohtang (3,978 m / 13,050 ft) on the road toward Lahaul and Spiti. Solang is the easier option and runs year-round for paragliding, the ropeway, zorbing, and sledging on snow in winter. Rohtang needs a permit and only opens roughly May to October, so which one you do depends on the season and the day's road conditions. Snow activities such as skiing, snow-scooter rides, and horse riding cost extra on the spot. You return to the hotel for dinner and the night.

Day 4: Kullu and Naggar day trip

Drive down the valley toward Kullu and Naggar for the day. Naggar Castle is a 15th-century stone-and-wood fort turned heritage property, with the Nicholas Roerich art gallery just below it and old temples such as the Jagatsukh Shiva temple on the way. If the season is right and you both want a rush, the Beas near Kullu has river-rafting stretches you can add. On the way back there is time at a shawl workshop, a practical honeymoon souvenir stop, before returning to Manali for the night.

Day 5: Drive down and fly home to Hyderabad

After breakfast you check out and drive back to Delhi or Chandigarh airport for the flight home to Hyderabad. Keep a comfortable buffer between the hill drive and your departure, since the mountain road can be slow in peak season.
