Day-wise Honeymoon Itinerary

Day 1: Nagpur to Delhi, then overnight Volvo to Manali

Fly or take the train from Nagpur to Delhi in the first half of the day. Reach the pickup point in Delhi by 5 pm, because the Manali Volvo leaves sharp at 5:30 pm. It is a 532 km run and takes 12 to 14 hours, so you travel through the night in a reclining semi-sleeper seat. Try to be early. The last-minute dash to a departing bus is not how you want a honeymoon to begin. Pack a light jacket in your day bag. The cabin cools down as the road climbs past Mandi. Meals on this leg are on you, so grab dinner before boarding.

Day 2: Arrive in Manali, local sightseeing

You roll into Manali in the morning. Our representative meets you at the bus station and moves you to the hotel for check-in. Freshen up, have breakfast, and rest through the first half. The tour starts after lunch as a half-day local run. First stop is the Hadimba Devi Temple, a 16th-century cedar-wood shrine set in a quiet deodar forest, one of the most photographed spots in Manali. From there it is a short drive to Vashisht village for its stone temples and natural hot-water springs, where a warm soak is the reward for the overnight ride. Wind down the evening with a slow walk along Mall Road for coffee and shopping. Back to the hotel for dinner, and if you booked the honeymoon add-ons, this is the night for the candlelight dinner and the decorated room.

Day 3: Full day at Solang Valley or Rohtang Pass

After breakfast you head up to the high country. Rohtang Pass sits at about 3,978 metres and links the Kullu valley with Lahaul and Spiti, all snow and sky and cold clean air. When Rohtang is closed by weather or permit limits, the day runs to Solang Valley instead, which is where the adventure is anyway. Solang is the paragliding and skiing hub, with horse rides, a ropeway and zorbing for couples who want the photos without the altitude. On the drive up you pass through the Atal Tunnel, the 9.02 km engineering feat under the Rohtang massif that has become a sightseeing stop in its own right. Ask your driver to pause at the Sissu side if time allows. Rohtang needs a permit that is not included in the fare, so confirm it the day before. Back to Manali by evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Full day to Kullu and Naggar

Today you drift south down the Beas river to Kullu and Naggar. Kullu is the rafting stretch, and a run on the Beas is an easy shared thrill for couples who want a little adrenaline. The centrepiece is Naggar Castle, a 15th-century timber-and-stone fort turned heritage hotel and gallery, home to the paintings of Russian artist Nicholas Roerich and a wide view over the valley. Nearby sit the old Gauri Shankar and Tripura Sundari temples and a shawl workshop where you can watch Kullu weaving up close. Day 5: Departure

Time to head home. Have a relaxed breakfast, pack, and finish the check-out formalities.
