Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Vadodara to Delhi, Overnight Volvo to Manali

Your Himachal leg begins from Delhi. Reach the designated AC Volvo boarding point in Delhi by yourself, after your train or flight in from Vadodara, and board the overnight coach that departs at 5.30 PM sharp. The How to Reach section below covers the Vadodara-to-Delhi options in detail. Settle in for the overnight climb into the mountains, and you arrive in Manali the next morning.

Day 2: Arrival in Manali and Half-Day Sightseeing

You reach Manali around 7.00 AM and are driven from the Volvo boarding point to your hotel. Check in, get refreshed, and then head out to explore the town, all of it close together. Visit the famous Hadimba Devi Temple in its cedar forest, the Vashisht Temple with its natural sulphur hot-water springs, and the Tibetan Monastery with its prayer wheels. Spend some quiet time at Van Vihar by the river, and in the evening walk the Mall Road for Kullu shawls, caps and Tibetan handicrafts. Return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Solang Valley or Rohtang Pass Snow Day

After breakfast you set off for the big snow day, driving to either Solang Valley or Rohtang Pass depending on the season and road status. Solang is the natural amphitheatre known for skiing, zorbing, the snow-scooter ride and paragliding, and it stays accessible for most of the year. Rohtang Pass, higher up, gives the classic snow-and-glacier views but needs a permit and opens only in season; when it is closed, your driver takes the 9 km Atal Tunnel to the Sissu snow point in the Lahaul valley instead, so your snow day still happens. Day 4: Naggar Castle and the Kullu Side

How to Reach Manali from Vadodara

This is the one thing a from-Vadodara traveller should settle first, because there is no direct train or flight to Manali. This package already includes the AC Volvo from Delhi to Manali and back, so your job is to reach the Delhi boarding point in time for the 5.30 PM departure. The nearest airport to Manali, Bhuntar (Kullu), is about 50 km short of town and takes only small connecting flights, so almost everyone routes through Delhi or Chandigarh.
