Overview
Munnar is a beautiful town situated in the Western Ghats of Kerala. It is a hill station and that’s why it is the most attractive sport of the whole state. Again, Munnar is surrounded by tea plantations and rolling hills. You will be taken by awe with the beautiful flora-fauna and the luxurious life of Munnar. Munnar trip in July is really amazing because of the rains and the scenic beauty of this place. Rains just add to the beauty of an already beautiful landscape. Munnar in July is wet, damp and the petrichor is something you will always remember.
We start with the Mattupetty dam. Mathupetty dam is located around 13km from Munnar and is a reservoir dam. It is situated in the middle of the hills. The view is just amazing from the dam. And the dairy farm in Mattupetty is also famous for its Indo-Swiss type of a dairy and is a major tourist attraction; while the Top station which is 40 km from Munnar is the most extra ordinary hill station of Munnar. You can trek to this hill station too. Munnar trip in July would be amazing with a trek to Top station. The Punarjani Traditional village is a cult of people of the village who put up two of the most beautiful dance form of the south i.e. Kalaripayattu and Kathakali. They put up a show for the people to watch and to let them know about the cultural heritage of India. The most significant thing about Munnar in July is visiting the Echo point. It is exactly what its name is, an Echo point.
Another sport worth visiting is the Eravikulum National Park. The only breed of Mountain goats existing is preserved here. It has some of the rare animal, flowers and butterfly species which makes it one of the ‘Must visit’ places.
