Day-by-Day Luxury Itinerary

Day 1 | Arrive in Phuket, settle in

Meals: none. Stay: Phuket. Airport transfer included.

You are met at Phuket airport and driven to your resort on the west coast. Check in, then the day is yours. Most people spend it exactly where a five-star stay is meant to be spent: by the pool, in the spa, or on the beach a few steps from the room. If you would rather explore, Patong and the nearby beaches are a short ride away at your own pace. Overnight in Phuket.

Day 2 | Phi Phi islands by boat

Meals: breakfast. Stay: Phuket. Island tour on shared boat (private-boat upgrade available).

After breakfast at the resort you head out to the Phi Phi islands. The boat runs past Loh Samah Bay, Pileh Cove and the Viking Cave, with time to snorkel over the reefs and stop at Monkey Beach if you want it. The included tour is on a shared boat; if you prefer, a private long-tail or speedboat with your own guide can be arranged so you skip the crowds and set your own timing. Watch the sunset on the ride back, then dinner and an overnight in Phuket.

Day 3 | Old Phuket Town and the south cape

Meals: breakfast. Stay: Phuket.

A city tour fills the day: a jewellery showroom, the Three Beaches Viewpoint, the Big Buddha and Wat Chalong, then the Sino-Portuguese shophouses of Old Phuket Town, which are the most photogenic part of the island. The tour finishes at Promthep Cape for the sunset, the classic end to a Phuket day. Back at the resort, this is a good evening for a Thai massage at the spa before dinner. Overnight in Phuket.

Day 4 | Private drive to Krabi

Meals: breakfast. Stay: Krabi. Transfer included (private-car upgrade available).

Breakfast, check out, and cross to Krabi by road, roughly a three to four hour drive along the coast. A private car makes this leg comfortable and lets you stop for photos or lunch on the way. Krabi is the calmer half of the trip, all limestone cliffs and quiet beaches. Check in and keep the afternoon slow: the pool, the spa, or the beach. Overnight in Krabi.

Day 5 | Krabi four-island tour

Meals: breakfast. Stay: Krabi. Island tour on shared boat (private-boat upgrade available).

The full-day four-island trip is the highlight of the Krabi leg. You snorkel off Chicken Island, cross the sandbar to Tup Island at low tide, laze on the long beach at Poda, and stop at Phra Nang Cave beneath the Railay cliffs before the sunset at Ao Nang. Swimming and water sports are on offer at each stop. As with Phi Phi, a private boat can be arranged if you would rather travel just with your group. Overnight in Krabi.

Day 6 | Departure from Krabi

Meals: breakfast. Departure transfer included.

A last breakfast, then a transfer to Krabi airport for your flight home. If your flight is late, the resort can usually hold a room or a spa slot for the morning, worth asking about when you customise the trip.
