Located at a distance of about 166 km from Delhi, the serene city of Alwar can be easily reached by train and bus. However, the best way to travel from Delhi to Alwar is via railways. Traveling by flight is also an option, but one will have to board a flight to Jaipur since Alwar does not have an airport. Therefore, traveling by flight is not the most feasible option. The city is well-connected to other parts of India via roadways and railways. Go through the following information and learn more about how to reach Alwar from Delhi.

Delhi to Alwar By Air: As the Alwar city does not have an airport of its own, there is no option available to travel from Delhi to this city of Rajasthan via a flight. However, if you still want to choose this option, you can board a flight to Jaipur, and then get on a bus or hire a private taxi to get to the destination. The aerial distance between Alwar and Delhi is 133 km.

Delhi to Alwar By Rail: Traveling by train is the best way to reach Alwar from Delhi. With Alwar Railway Station being located in the heart of the town, all you need to do is board a Delhi to Alwar train, and voila! You are all set to cover the mere distance of about 143 km in around 2 to 3 hours. There are plenty of trains that operate between the two places. You can choose from Ashram Express, Ranikhet Express, Jammu AliExpress, and other trains. The cherry on the cake is that traveling via railways is also the cheapest option to get there from Delhi.

By Bus: There are also plenty of buses that operate between Delhi and Alwar. You may book a Delhi to Alwar bus of our choice depending on time and other factors, and get to cover the distance of about 166 km in just 3 to 4 hours. We had a memorable trip to Rajasthan booked through Travel Triangle, though our experience was somewhat mixed. The cab driver assigned to us was truly dedicated and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Every restaurant he recommended was excellent, and the sightseeing throughout the journey

was absolutely fabulous. That said, I would advise exercising caution when booking 4-star accommodations through the agent. It's important to clarify that we were referring to official hotel ratings, not guest reviews. Unfortunately, the agent’s interpretation did not match ours. Three out of the five hotels had ongoing renovation work, which significantly affected our comfort. Although the agent did try to make changes to minimize the inconvenience, the replacement hotels were not of genuine 4-star quality either. The most disappointing experience was the camping stay at Juma Resort in Jaisalmer. The property was infested with crickets, making it uninhabitable. Four families, including ours, ended up leaving the resort and paying out of pocket for alternative accommodation. Unfortunately, this was not even communicated to the travel agent at the time. On a positive note, our request for a rollaway bed for our daughter was fulfilled as expected, which we appreciated. In summary, while the itinerary and driver exceeded our expectations, the hotel arrangements — particularly the Jaisalmer experience — left considerable room for improvement.
