How To Reach Baie Lazare

Lazare Bay is located on a small peninsula in the southwest of the island of Mahé. Baie Lazare is about a 45-minute drive from the capital city of Victoria. The SEZ international airport is about 35 minutes or 20 kilometers away from the bay. From the airport, visitors can turn left and continue south on the road via Anse Royale.  

From Victoria, travel across the island from east to west via Fairview and Souvenir. Follow the road towards Anse Boileau and then continue south along the West Coast Road. After Anse à la Mouche, turn right to the Anse Soleil Road. A narrow road runs down to finish behind the beach via Anse Gouvernement. From the airport, the shortest route goes through Anse Royale. It takes about thirty minutes by car in both cases.

To the far west of the bay, Anse Gouvernement is the most accessible spot and also the most interesting spot for underwater life. The public access to the beach is via the Anse Gouvernement Road. There is no specific best time to visit Baie Lazare, however, June through October months should be avoided.
