How to Reach Hakgala Botanical Garden in Nuwara Eliya

If you are planning to go to Nuwara Eliya by train, then get down at Nanu Oya railway station which is nearly 10 km from Nuwara Eliya. The road en route is via Kandy and Hatton, however, the conditions of these roads are not very good and might spoil the excitement of your journey. After reaching Nuwara Eliya, one can take an auto rickshaw, cab or even rent a bicycle to this Nuwara Eliya Botanical Garden.

By Rail:

If you are taking a train from Colombo, then the travel time will be nearly 7h 15m. You will be reaching Nanu Oya in 6h 20m from where you can reach the botanical garden in the next 50-55 minutes via auto rickshaw or taxi.

By Road:

Your road journey depends on the destination from where you are heading for this garden. However, an excursion to Hakgala Botanical Garden via road might be a little tiring if you are traveling with kids and elderly people.
